This is sounding more and more like my kind of event. I personally can only sit in one place for so long staring at cars sitting still.

I have participated in quite a few Pro-Touring events where we have a day of cruising and dining get together, a day of autocross and a day of drag racing.

I am also thinking of a place a bit more north then Jax or Gainesville to be more central for all the Southeast.

A couple of good venues would be South Georgia Motorsports Park, Atlanta Dragway & Road Atlanta. I am sure there are a few other places that will work also.

If I come up with anything else I will pass it on.

Mike,

Thanks a ton for the input.

I've never set anything like this up. If you can offer any advice I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts..

South Georgia Motorsports Park would be a great place. They are always trying to get people there, it's right off highway and central location. Plus it's a really nice facility!!

Are we there yet?

Hey y'all - first timer here. My husband's 1LT RS IBM is in the ordering stage, but should be in the driveway before he leaves for Iraq this winter. This is our first dream car and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I can roadtrip to Jax (2 hours) or ATL (4.5 hours) so just let me know when and where and I will cruise in!

I will lend a hand where I can for sure and SGMP will work. I am thinking around the Presidents Day weekend as it gives some folks a long weekend. Plus it will stiil be nice and cool that time of year.

I am e-mailing the folks at SGMP now to check on date availability and costs. I see their daily event rental is $3500 plus expenses which sounds high. But if we get 100 cars it is $35 each.

So I guess we need to also find out what folks costs tolernace levels are as well as if they are willing to prepay. I would say that $50 a car for both 1/4 mile and autocross running is a good value. Probably have to do both the same day to keep track costs down.

Depending on how business is doing I will try to cover some of the cost for everyone. If need be we can open it up to other LSx powered cars also.
