No paint issues , other than a couple of rock chips.
If you are having grind issues or having a hard time getting the the car to go into the next gear (I only have this issue below 50*). The transmission needs to be warmed up for at least 5 minutes before trying to shift fast. I allways shift my car very gently until the motor warms up, 2nd gear is very easy to grind when cold. Thanks, Sam. |

I have the same issue. 2nd week of having my Z, bird dropping on the roof. I actually was able to remove the bird dropping within 20 mins. Was already too late. Etched into the paint. Paint quality is very very poor. My wife's Audi A5 is black and has had multiple bird droppings on it before and left on longer than 20 mins. Once washed off no signs of etching or anything on the paint. No paint sealant ever applied to her car either. Granted it's a European luxury brand but my Z cost more than her car. I wish GM would take the extra time to put more coats of paint and clear on our cars. Other than that I love my Z.

Same here. Taking the Z to the dealer to see what they can do about it. Anyone else have this issue?

Paint issue
My rims where the same way 😡 I was going to refinish them but end up getting after market rims and upgraded tires.the paint on my Z is very good for factory GM paint no orange peel at all nice and flat very surprised
but I did have a few nibs and a few light scratches that I had to sand out and buff but very happy with the finish on my Z good luck to the guys with paint issues . For the guy's getting paint work done make sure the shop you go to does good work there are a lot of butchers out there do your research |

That's exactly what one of the large spots on hold looks like. Like like it is under the clear coat. |

Yeah I have owned black cars my entire life. Nissan Toyota and the zl1. I would go weeks and not wash the others with bird droppings etc. Paint looks new cleaned. I only have 700 miles on it and sits on garage clean. And rocks chips are horrible. You can almost peel the paint away with your fingertips.
I absolutely love my zl1. Love it! But for as much as we pay the paint finish is absolute horrid. Not happy |

Go fast, please.

I had a red Cobalt SS, a red 370z Nismo, and now my red ZL1. The paint across those 3 cars was pretty much identical...
So weird how much variation there seems to be in paint on these cars. I am in the process of claying and buffing my ZL1 right now so I have been all over my cars paint and it seems to be very comparable to my last 2 red cars... |

I have a 2014 ZL1 and have scratches on the car. If I don't clean off lizard poop without wetting it with water it scratches. Water spotting is also a problem too. I bought a foam gun and that helps too. I park my Z in an enclosed garage and always wipe it down and cover it whenever I take it out!

A few days after clay bar, polish and waxing my car a bird dropped a duce right on my hood. I can still see the spot!

Thats a bird issue- not a paint issue. You got to get that off asap or it will eat the clear coat.

No that's a paint issue. I have put hundreds of thousands of miles on other black cars that I detail and bird droppings don't eat the paint after an hour on the car. I have have bird droppings on my 370z for weeks and after washing no spots or imperfections. Something is seriously wrong with the paint finish. |
