Light Sensor and back up camera screen and dash brightness

All,

Camaro: 2014 SS1 RS

I park in the garage and when i back out during the day, the light sensor thinks it's night time and thus i get an extremely dim rear view camera screen. Also, when driving eastbound in the evening, my light sensor is in the shade and my dash dims to the point i can't read anything while wearing my sunglasses. Obviously i can partially correct this by adjusting the brightness dial, but that's a pain to do every time. Is there a way to disable the auto light sensor and allow me to toggle it manually? I realize this also effects the head/tail lights when they're in auto, does this effect anything else?

Thanks,
Justin
