The V6 LLT engine is more durable for DD.

I vote for the V8, just because it's loads of fun. That said, I once spent a week in a rented V6 and it was plenty fast. Either way, you can't lose.

oh.. and yes, her family owns a Chevy dealership?? ... Put a ring on it.

I wouldn't buy a car with a OHC engine but we did drive a V6 car and was not impressed.

Get the SS. There is also a lot more to the car than just the engine.

Drive both, see what you can afford.

V8 is going to be faster. And sounds cooler

V6 isnt a slouch, it is not slow by any means... I bought a v6 because it was very cheap. I almost always get 20 or so in the city and get low 30s on the highway. If you dont drive like an idiot you can get some good numbers out if it.

I plan on upgrading to the new 6th gen though.. So if the 6th gen looks good to you, maybe wait.

I agree there's a lot more than the engine. You dont need to buy the v8 to get it all though. Grab a nice RS and you'll get almost all the goodies you could want.

I would go for the V8. I love them both, but the V8 feels better to me.

you really limit your options, 98% of the cars made today are OHC. most V8's have even gone OHC. pushrod engines are a throwback from the 60's. GM only uses them because they need something low profile for the corvette.

I would go with a V8 but with a manual transmission.

If you can get the stingray, get that. Haha if not, I would definitely get the SS. I've had my 1LT/RS for almost a year and a half, and I think I'm going to upgrade soon. I love my car, I just want more and I want that V8 sound too.

Not quite. It's pretty hard to beat a LS motor in reliability.

No he is what is referred to as a V8 owner.

A V6 Camaro is adequate for cruising up and down the street with the windows down and the stereo blasting, but for anyone who is worried that it might not be enough oomph, well, then, it's guaranteed that they will find it's not enough.

If you are 6ft tall, don't get a sunroof, it takes away a LOT of headroom!

Get the V8 and drive it easy.

If you really want gas mileage forget the fat-azz Camaro and get a Corvette. I have one of each and the 'Vette gets far better mileage.
