I have owned both (2) 94 Z/28's and two 98-02's (00 V6, and 01 Z/28)

I prefer the 98-02 cars

I never could get used to the front fenders on the '98-'02. Look good with the SS scoop but without I don't like.

Well me being a 95 96 impala ss dude i love the LT1 (93-97) but i wanna LS1 camaro SOOOO bad (98-02) i think i will still get one

93-97 for camaro - something about the recessed lights looks better
98-02 for trans ams - the new body lines looked smoother & awesomer

but based on powertrain, i'd have to go with the LS1 cars

If the 30th Anniv SS came with an LS1, that would be the perfect 4th Gen to me. I loved my 30th but the LT1 would practically fall on its face above 4500 RPM or so. And forget about changing the plugs and wires, I left that to the next owner. lol I love me some LS1s, 98-02 FTW!
