Arrow Rusted Rotors Tips On Painting?

So when I paint my calipers I'm also gonna paint the rotor hats. They have a little rust on them just don't want it to get any worst. I'll hit it with scotch Brite pad then brake cleaner like the calipers. For u guys that do it how many layer and does it rust through after a period of time? I have the VHT Caliper Primer is that enough 3 layers so it won't rust through. I also want it to be the same color as the metal so do u think that primer will work well since I already have it or should I buy a color?

The paint you show in the picture will not hold up temperature-wise.

You will need this line of VHT paints instead:
http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/caliperpaint/

Just follow the steps shown on the web page and you will be good to go.

I would definitely not just use the primer. The primer will absorb moisture if it is not sealed - no mater how many coats you apply.

I'm pretty sure if my rotors get hotter than 550 degrees then I have other problems to worry about other than paint. But I guess I will get VHT caliper paint then since you said it's not sealed.

Ok I'll get grey paint high temp paint or something for the rotors. I bought the primer because I'm gonna use that as the first layers before I paint calipers.

He's not painting the actual rotors. He's painting the hats that sit in the middle of the rotor. The black part in the image is what is getting painted.

Here is what I used on the rotors. It's the Dupli-cover high temp engine enamel. Have had no rusting or problems peeling.

I see u painted the edges too. I thought about that but decided against it since I'm leaving the rotor on.

I still don't get how everytime someone brings up painting the rotor hats that rust, some people actually think we mean painting the braking surface
