He did the right thing cause he changed also the torque converter. It's really easy with the engine out.

Not bad but for future reference you can pull the engine out the top and leave the trans in the car in under 3 hours. Another thing about pulling it out the top you don't have to open the A/C system or transmission lines. No front end to realign, no drive shaft to R&R ect.
