Back Up Sensors? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just got back from reordering my car at a different dealership with allocation and as I finished my order the gentleman there got a letter from GM just at that moment stating that any car built after Aug 31, 2009 that is 2LT or 2SS would come with back up sensors standard and the MSRP would increase by $295.00. Can anyone deny or confirm this? Please let me know in case they are just trying to get money out of me.

Well, there is a section in the owners manual about some sort of backup help sensor things...I was wondering what the heck that was because it made no sense to me...but maybe this is what it applies to.

so, since mine is scheduled to be produced week of 9/7, it will theoretically have this? and be $30,305? (30,010 as of right now)

that would be awesome. i was dreading have to do this after market. lets hope your dealers better than mine. (trust me, thats not hard)

We have several dealers here on the forums and since none of them has posted this yet, I got a feeling your dealer is just trying to get more money out of you.

but how is that legal? they cant charge for something they arent going to put on the car...
i guess they could say that the 295 is just a regular price increase and has nothing to do with the park assist?
but from the OP it seems as though they said the price increased because of the park assist

I had asked about that being in the manual awhile ago.... It was posted that the manual was pieced together from several different cars..... That made no sense to me, for the price of the car it would seem the manual would be in order......and just let that one go ....

I'd want to see it before it was added to my car. I wouldn't want the ugly circles on the bumper. You'd think it would be an option and not standard.

That's my thing too . They might be mad that I came in asking that I had a credit union supplier price voucher. So if my original dealer honors it I will cancel with them.

I can't see GM adding something like this part way through a production year, seems fishy to me.
