I owned a V6 for 3 years and six months, and have owned a V8 for a year and a half. at cruising they are very similar animals, doubt most would see much of a difference when driving at low speeds, the big difference is when you drop the hammer, the torque you feel in the seat of your pants will raise goose bumps on you when you first feel the power. and the sound of that V8 rumble can't be ignored!

The only reason youd get flamed is for starting the same uneventful, shitstarting moot conversation again. Is this news, get what you can afford?

Oh ok. Lol! I see no reason to debate V8/V6. People buy what they see fit and both are great cars.

But when it comes to RS......lol!

Okay, guess I'll have to address my mis-step with the RS thing. I was at work and rushing the post. I do know the difference and in-fact have the RS package on my SS. He has the base model V6 (1LT I think). Doesn't even matter since it was not the point of the post and I clearly did mention it was the V6. So if that's all you're gonna pick on me for I guess it wasn't too bad.

I really was not trying to bash the V6 and just give my honest impression of both cars. It's my brothers car so I don't have any reason to try and feel better about my car. My opinion would be the same even if I test drove both at a dealership and didn't own either. Perhaps having a somewhat quick car before my SS has spoiled me but I expected the V6 to feel similar to the 5.3L in my Grand Prix. But since there are many factors at play such as torque, weight, gearing, programming...., I guess it isn't fair to expect the same feel. I've got brembo's on that car too so it's been a while since I've drove something with mushier brake feel. I don't know what I expected really. This is simply just my observation after driving both. If you're happy with the V6, great. Enjoy it. I don't see how I disrespected anybody with truly offering an honest OPINION but there will always be those here whom want to flex their muscle because they know a miniscule amount more than the next guy (or not). "Let's nail him for the RS slip"! "There I feel better now". This is not an SS is better than V6 thread so-as to piss on those with the V6! Of course the SS is better in all respects except fuel economy and price. I was simply conveying my driving experience for those who haven't tried both or may be considering it.

On the plus side, this is the most response I've ever gotten with a thread. So if that was my devious plan, mission accomplished and thanks to those who were mature enough to understand the disclaimers. Aren't we all supposed to get along here? It's a forum for those who love the Camaro.

I guess I should avoid the 2016 4banger though...... I've decided i'm gonna call that one the "BS".

Ah, I wasn't sure. Thought all the autos got the 2.92.

Regardless, my 6 is peppy enough for me and I'm happy with it. That's all that matters in the end

Dude...it is all good...and I respect your response. Thanks. Believe me if I could have afforded a V8....I would have gotten one.

This is getting out of hand. I had a 14 v6 and now a 15 v8 and I loved both of them equally. Two different personalities, I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to own both. And If I see another v6 vs v8 debate, I'm going to log off! But I'll come back tomorrow

I like how everyone with a V8 will suggest that people only buy the V6 because they can't afford the V8. Sometimes people buy what they want. Personally, I didn't think the extra cost was worth it for a car I'm just going to commute in. I have other cars that to me are way more fun than a V8 Camaro.
Different people like different things- that's why there are a lot of different kinds, styles, colors and brands of cars.

What colour was the V6... everyone knows the white ones are the fastest.
