Fuel pump LPH V6 2013
I have looked all over and can't find info on how much the fuel pump in the tank puts out? Doing a project and need to buy a external pump and I want it to keep up with the High pressure pump. Thanks in advance.

Not that serious for a zl1. The lift pump in the tank is the same as the ss
This should solve your problem

Understood.
My suggestion was because he sounds like he wants more fuel flow for a project. Just swapping to the ZL1 pump would be easier than an additional in-line pump. Plus the ZL1 is 250 LPH @ proper pressure and the graph shows the difference in flow between the NA Camaro's & the ZL1. |

There is no way he will exceed that amount, unless he goes off the deep end and ends up like Gretchen. It's just used as a feeder pump to the high psi one on the rail. I believe it's above 500 psi if I remember right?
Guys have hit over 500 at the wheels with the stock fuel system. Assuming he is putting this motor is something different than a camaro. Not sure the price of the zl1 pump but it can't be cheap.

ZL1 pump is 280$ on Amazon w/ Prime shipping
http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Perfor.../dp/B00FS9P1UM The HPFP on the rail is driven by the exhaust camshaft and the psi range is from 550psi to 1750psi. At those pressures, I do not see why he would need to upgrade that pump as it could supply larger injectors out of the box. Maybe raise the idle if you go overboard. But if he is looking to add more fuel outside of the injectors, I would think he'd want the in-tank pump pushing more. Last edited by JaxChris; 06-25-2015 at 09:16 AM. |

All I want to do is feed to the high pressure pump but want to make sure it has enough once it gets there. I am not using the stock pump as we already have the new tank and want to put in an inline pump so it's easy to change as the tank is under the bed. The motor is going into a C10 pickup. My boy is 15 at the moment and we want to have it done before he's 16. He is helping me a lot.

The stock pump puts out about 200 liters/hour, this is the same for V6 & V8 NA Camaro's. The ZL1 pump puts out about 250 liters/hour. The pressure of the HPFP on the rail is 550 psi at idle and climbs to 1750 psi for the V6 models. I hope that provides the info you need to make your purchase.
Good luck with the project. |
