Catless question.

So I plan on installing Jba catless mid pipes. Now I know that I will get a CEL. Does the car have to be tuned on a dyno, or can I use a hand held tuner and just turn the rear 02 sensors off? Other mods are ported vmaxx tb and roto-fab intake.

someone like Jannetty could easily tune for no cats remotely using a hand held tuner. Tuning on the dyno is most ideal as the fueling can be adjusted for the lack of cats, but not entirely necessary.

I have set of JBA catless mid pipes if your looking. Has about 2K miles on them.

If you know someone that has HP Tuners or something comparable, you could just turn the O2's off. But you would gain more with having someone tune it.

Going catless is obnoxiously loud and not the good kind. I haven't heard a setup without cats that sounds good. A lot of people will run a resonated x pipe but I didn't have any luck with the catless setup

Your opinion. I have no cats and long tubes and to me it sounds awesome. Plenty of others will agree too.

Yah no cats and long tubes sound great to me. Maybe if you don't have mufflers then it wouldn't sound as good.

Yeah I agree that full dyno would be the best option as far as power and setting fuel ratios. I have a wideband air fuel gauge so that will help in the tuning process. I also forgot to mention that i have a corsa catback going on the car with the midpipes.

A dyno tune won't necessarily get you tons of additional power, (generally within 5hp,) but it will definitely get you a smoother power curve, and better drivability. Not to undermine Janetty, he's been doing this for a while, but a good tuner on a dyno will always be better than the same tuner via email.

As for LTs and no cats, I think it's great with the stock catback. No drone, shuts up really quiet on the freeway, and makes plenty of noise when you're high up in the revs.

I am looking at this exact situation right now for my car. I'm thinking of going catless more out of concern that poor quality cats may cause enfine damage then anything else. I drive my ZL a lot, about 25K miles per year, and I don't want any hassles. Thinking Ilugot catless and if too loud I can always add them back in later.

Thoughts?nfeedback and sound clips would be appreciated.

So question is. Do I do my catless mids and corsa and do it with a handheld tuner and just shut off rear O2's? Or throw it on a dyno?
