I recently bought a low mileage 2011 Camaro SS. The car looks mint but I recently discovered that one of the strut disc is spinning freely (first picture) while the other is firmly in place(second picture). Should I visit the dealer to fix it or it's nothing to worry about?

It shouldn't spin freely, it sounds like some nuts have been loosened or worked loose. I would just take it to the dealer you bought it from and have them check it out for you.

just put the torx bit to keep the strut from spinning while you tighten the nut.
That's really that simple to fix.

Someone already messed with the driver side strut? The nut cap is missing.
Or did you take it off to investigate? |

I'm sorry to hear about your strut concerns. Although I realize you're seeking opinions about it, if you'd like to consider getting an official GM diagnosis, please message me privately as I can reach out to the dealer's Customer Experience Managers (CEM) for additional assistance. If you'd like to contact us privately, we'd be happy to discuss this with you further. Kind regards, Will M. Chevrolet Customer Care |

By any chance, are you on coilovers? More specifically, is it the g5 coilovers?

Also, went to the dealer today. They said that in the long run, it would have damaged my suspension so my doubts were confirmed. I'm glad I no longer have to worry about it and finally enjoy the car! |
