Build Plan: 500 rwhp 2014 1LE, thoughts?

I'm looking to get back into the f-body game (previously owned a '67 RS/SS and a '97 Z28) with a '14 1LE in the next 12 months or so.

I am a planner by nature, so i'm sorting out a build plan to have in place when I do bring the new car home.

I'm seeing a few 500+ rwhp n/a figures on the threads (which is where I'd like to end up).

I'm definitely of the "have a more tuned and built naturally aspirated car" with a decent drive mod than forced-induction and/or just trying to brag how much power I have, blah blah blah.

The 1LE appeals to me in those senses, but I'm thinking the only things I'd look to do in the power department would be at the worst: Heads, cam, supporting tune, intake, ported throttle body and full exhaust. Am i missing anything here for the goal of 500rwhp?

Suspension and tires are a whole other animal

Thanks for reading, and keep up the great 1LE posts, I'm loving what I'm seeing!

Everybody's got to have goals.

You seem to be on the right track. Good luck.

I am trying to do 500 rwhp as well. Here is a thread from not to long ago that might help if you haven't seen it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...&highlight=500

Saw that one. Thanks for posting though, good to get more examples and information.

How's your build coming along? Where are you at in the stages and what's left?

I have the list of everything I'm getting as far as parts goes but just need to pull the trigger and find a local shop that will do the work and tune.

500whp should be easily achieved with a good h/c/i set up.

I would also do the Comp Cams trunnion bearing upgrade.

Care to elaborate on why? Just genuinely curious, thanks!

Here is a good explanation I found, and if you are thinking about getting heads then you might as well replace them while they are off along with the valve springs and pushrods

I'm also in the same boat, but I personally plan to try to get there without an aftermarket intake. The intake seems to kill the torque, which in my opinion is just as important.
The 1le in the above linked thread, sure, it made 525ish rwhp, but a mere 440ish torque. I am currently at bolt ons and tuned and running 423 rwtq.

Interesting information. I'd be curious to know if there are any aftermarket that don't impede the torque numbers, that's important for sure.

500 RWHP works, but once you upgrade suspension and start holding steady state high G turns a dry sump should be on the mod list.
