I will have to look into that.

I read one post that a tune wouldn't void the warranty unless it is what caused the issue. That was from a GM Rep on another post I found in my searches.

Right I'm not saying the tune will void it but it could.... For example the trans tune changes the shift points or lowers the torque management and something lets go... The burden may fall on the owner to prove it wasn't the cause. I know there are laws down there regarding this but it it isn't a comfortable spot to be sittting in at least for me...

The Range does not leave any foot print of being in the car as it only blocks the AFM signal so in that regard it is a good option. Trust me I would prefer to tune my car but it isn't that old and I want my warranty for a while yet. Down the road I might do it though....

With the AFM off the car is no longer lazy around town which is what I really disliked about it.

Very cool. Yeah I am pretty fine with the shift points in Sport. However, it is the putzing around that I feel it and it bugs me.

Yeah technically, the dealer is supposed to have the burden to prove it caused it, but like you probably better to not deal with it. I think I would be happy for the time being just disabling ADM.

is this the same one you used?

I have a Range device and never really noticed a difference. I bought My car used, is there any way to tell if it has already been tuned?

Yes thats it. I see they caution about 2014 vehicles but I think the Camaro is virtually unchanged from 2013 other than the cosmetic changes... Perhaps the new trucks etc. might have an issue as a lot more has changed I believe.

Mine has glitched about 3 times in the past year nothing unplugging it doesn't correct. First time scared the crap out of me lol service parking brake, service power steering then car shuts off... oh Shi....!

Now if it happens I just laugh and remove it for 2 minutes and its good to go. But yes the putzing around is what annoyed me but no longer.

The other thing I found was this car was slow to wake up... At about 6000 miles it came to life one day. I think something is set in the computer to ease early strain on the drivetrain but I could be out in left field about that too

Hmm, shut off while you were driving? Not sure I want to risk that.

Mine is a 2015, so not sure if anything would be more prevalent on this one as the older models.

Maybe I will just do a tune. My brother-in-law is the service writer at my dealership. He told me to do whatever I wanted to the car. Even being a lease.

Sorry geez no never while driving it only occurred right after a startup in the driveway say... Probably checking the system bus or something. It is not dangerous in any way.

Well if he said that its likely a better option. There was a guy on here who tuned a lease and it went bad but I can't recall the thread. Might be worth a look before you do that.

Just get a Range and forget it. I've got 5000 miles on mine, all with a Range, and no problems or glitches. The device works great and they've sold a ton of them.

Yeah I just read through the one guy's post about his LFX headaches. Sounds like a crappy situation.

So all of your problems happened at the time of start-up?
That is a relief.

Yeah I think I may go that route. I am not going to do much, but this would alleviate my only issue. That and a CAI should be all I will do.

Yes only then.... So really not an issue as I say happened maybe 3 times in a year of use so really infrequent. And as I say unplug , wait 3 minutes, and away she goes for another 6 months. Only other issue is it can drain a battery if left in for a period of time. I take mine out of the car will sit 3 or more days as a precaution only takes a second to unplug......

There are two other mods that are really worth the money.

The Vitesse Throttle Controller costs about $185 and is worth $1000s as far as fun goes. It will make you think you just bought 200hp. It snaps in place (no tools required), is easily removed and comes with a 30 day, no questions asked, money back guarantee. Try it. Instant throttle response. Adjustable. Burnout heaven.

Muffler delete. Go to a muffler shop and give them $100 to whack the mufflers off and replace them with straight pipe and weld your tips back in place. Your car will suddenly sound like an SS should... civil at low RPM and louder when you get on it. It will not make your car noisy - (my wife still hasn't noticed any difference). It will make it a lot more fun to drive because you will notice the new growl. The cats and resonator do 90% of the noise muffling on these cars. Bonus - you lose 30lbs in the process. Bonus - It's $500 cheaper than a catback system and doesn't sound a lot different.
