I think it's rather obvious what I meant, but thanks for the useless sarcasm....always one in the crowd

I believe so, but don't let that give you a false sense of security-my original Camaro was an auto.

You ever hear the old saying "look at the pot calling the kettle black"? If you don't know the meaning, Google it.

You know, sadly I have to agree to an extent. I'm a native and California used to be a much greater state than it is now, but that was long long ago.

Yes.. I think it's usually on TruTv. It used to be on all the time, but now it's not on very often. They leave the keys in a car and park it in a bad neighborhood. There are hidden cameras and a GPS transponder in the car. As soon as the car moves, the cops start chasing it. Then they kill the engine and lock the doors. Viewers get to watch the facial reactions of the thief as he steals the car, then gets nabbed.

You Tube has some videos

their looking for camaros that are SS's and a manual cause the LS3 and transmission is what their looking to pull out an ship overseas to sell. so in this case having a manual is actually a disadvantage to us in the area. does anyone know if the cops or anyone has made any progress on finding this group?

Believable. No one wants an AFM motor, and the TR6060 is one of the most widely used transmissions in the world. I do not see a value in the L99/6L80 drivetrain but the LS3/TR6060 combo is extremely valuable - a plain old pushrod Chevy smallblock and one of the most popular racing transmissions ever designed.

I know for a FACT that a lot of the people stealing these cars are illegal street racers in the East bay. not only are the parts sold, but a lot of the parts go into those cars you see on "TheBayAreaRacing" channel on youtube.

In the US. Once you leave our borders, the slushbox fades into obscurity. Americans are willing to pay more money for a less reliable, less efficient, more expensive drivetrain for a drop of convenience. Most other cultures do not share this method of thinking, or cannot afford this method of thinking.

The L99/6L80 combo is an American thing. They exist due to convenience and government regulation at the expense of cost and efficiency (you're paying more money and adding more failure points for less power, economy and reliability all for ease...WTF logic). In the international market, the LS3/TR6060 is much more valuable. Without CAFE standards there would be no L99, period, and all SS's would have an LS3.
