So my friend got the kids number and he gave him a call today... Dealership is claiming that gears inside the T6060 shattered.

They are replacing it right now and claim this is the 5th car they have done this on...

Get the output shaft sorted, but be prepared if you are going to race it constantly, you have to pay to play. It never was cheap to pursue that hobby in the past, and it isn't now
You should work for Nissan

this car needsa lot of upgrades before you race it . its not a rocket ship like every one says it doesnt need a chute.if you drag race be prepared to pay its an expensive hobby.manufactures will tell anything to sell cars. i own 2ss rs 6spd by no stretch of the imignation is it a race car way to slow it is okay to play with on the street.15000 you can buy a good old bracket car its built to race .not the camaro.

Took my car in with N2O installed in plain sight, numbers on the window... service writer leans in to get the cars mileage... pokes his head back out and smiles and asks, "Why do you have a helmet in your car?" LOL! Fixed my throttle position sensor even though the N20 was sliced into it... all under warranty! LOL

input output shafts.

If your racing your car stock, and especially adding power, replace both the tailshaft, and input shaft, they are very weak.

I dont really see your point, it is nice to have a car that can have fun at the track on the weekends... The new Camaro SS is a nice start with it running damn close to 12's from the factory

The car should be stout enough to beat the piss out of, seems like it is Tremec's fail AGAIN.

Ahhh, that's like saying that just because you have 2000 lbs of thrust to get that airplane off the ground dosen't mean you really need to use it. If you want to get off the ground, you better be using all 2000 lbs. - and every part on that that plane was designed for that power. Oops, the bolts holding that engine on couldn't handle the excessive power and is now laying on the ground, as is the plane. (sorry, the only example I could think of right now and I used to fly a some)

The LS3 has 426 HP and 420 lbs. ft. of torque and it's associated equipment should handle it without any issue. NOW, if you add a blower or turbo or other performance increasing items, then it's pay to play.

Just as I'm not a big fan of torque management on the autos. As far as I'm concerned that just allows the manufacture to use lesser quality materials. I've had several older Camaros as well as other GM vehicles that I could pop the clutch at full power all day long without ever breaking a tranny.

Don't get me wrong, I love this car and I am a loyal GM person but if your going to make a car with this much power, the parts should be just as powerful. I do not really blame GM for the tranny problem, that blame goes to the company producing them in Mexico.

Jesus. Lots of people saying to expect problems when drag racing, but I don't think I EVER heard of that happening on a T56 4th gen, no matter the power level!! I put 550 ft/lbs of torque through the stock T56 on ET Streets in my turbo LS1 and NEVER had a transmission problem. It's sad to see that we have to worry about this now (with street tires!!) when we didn't 10 years ago.
