The I4 will be an interesting option although I wouldn't expect much longevity from it. I wonder what Jasper will think about it? Jasper cracks me up. You gotta love gearhead forums.

The V6 has the same problems as all DOHC engines, power doesn't apply until the RPM's are up. A high stall Torque Converter helps immensely as I found out recently, but an expensive mod for most.

Take from a person who has both. Our 1LT/RS is a manual and it's fun to drive!! The SS in an auto and is equally fun to drive. I love them both! I enjoy the SS a little more because you are right the braking is better and so is the handling. But let's not act like these cars are miles apart. They are different, but both great in their own way!

It's just a good thing there are options within the same body style. Not everyone is going to use their car for the same purpose.
The world would be a boring place, including this forum, if everyone had the same power plant with same HP, etc, etc.
