I drive a V6, it's pretty quick and has plenty of power to get through the streets. But even I am contemplating upgrading to SS. V8 is some serious power/fun. And because I already have a separate daily driver. I don't see point in staying with V6 and modding it, I'd rather upgrade to ss since I drive the camaro for thrill. If I am going to put 5k in mods on it over the next year I'd rather just save up more and upgrade to v8. I will admit though if I do make upgrade I will be nervous about 6 speed manaul as I've never driven stick shift.

Excuse me? I have no clue who you think I am but this is my first and only account on this forum that I made rather recently due to the purchase of a new 5th gen Camaro... Take the bullshit accusations elsewhere.

gotta love it, why you hatin'?
It's all good.

the other day someone on here said SS were a dime a dozen, I wanted to correct them and say it was closer to $500,000 a dozen but, hey, why argue the point.

You have a nice car? You get to drive it when you want, how you want? You are extremely fortunate.

'nuff said.

Perhaps this has already been said, but of course, if acceleration and power are your thing, coming from an LS3 to a v6 isn't going to impress you. I know that's why I spent the extra to get an LS3 equipped car.

However, those aren't the priorities for everyone that buys a Camaro.

I'm with you. As V6s go there are some great cars available, I'm not sure the Camaro would be at the top of the list.

I totally get why people buy them, it just wouldn't be my choice if that were the class of car I'm shopping in.

All these V6 cars y'all are mentioning cost about as much as a SS. I think you're kinda missing the point.

I just bought my 2014 2LT RS in June new off the lot. I have been driving a 09 Pontiac G8 GT with the 6.0L. Will my new Camaro outrun my G8... probably not. Do I care? Hell no.
I drive my car for work and it is more like my office. I think I have a damn nice office. Just sayin...

They are different, but both great in their own way!
They are not as close as some people think. Don't forget the increase in power.....so more power, better braking, better handling. I'm not sure how a v6 is just a little more fun to drive then a v8.

V6 brakes actually have just as good 60-0 as the brembos, the only difference you will see is in the brake fade on a road course. But I'm sure the placebo effect is there because they are SS brakes. I had v6 brakes and now have a full brembo setup, they stopped great before and they stop great now.

Yes sir! There will always be someone faster than you are, Maybe I'm just getting old, but the creature comforts were more the factor in my decision to buy my particular 2LT RS V6. I drove both (SS & LT) and came out of a G8 GT with the L76 6.0L engine. I rarely pushed the V8 so to me the HP & Torque ratings became secondary. I found my 14' new on a lot last month. It has every option available except Dual Mode Exhaust. Probably did not sell because it's MSRP was up there too close to an SS. But for me it was a great deal with rebates & Dealer discount totaling over 10K off of the sticker. I ended up with a loaded Camaro at a great price. I had the choice and I chose the V6 in this instance.
