Op, Don't stop there, some BMR suspension components can help address the wheel hop! Why have extra power, if you can't plant it. Go ahead and change out the trans fluid to Amsoil Signature Series ATF or Redline D4 ATF. The transmission will shift so much smoother, I promise that you'll love it. Some type of rock guards/paint protection would be recommended. Go over the part in the lease contract about the condition of the vehicle when you turn it back in. I thought the idea of a lease was to get a car that you didn't work on. Maybe you could have leased a more powerful car!

You do not mod a lease car you do not intend to buy at the end . I would read your lease agreement ,it will hold up in court. Too risky .

How many of us will actually keep these cars past 4 years? I know many will chime saying yes.. but its highly unlikely as we will want to get the G6 1LE if its ever offered.

We are car guys.. we are never happy with leaving something alone.

I couldn't agree more! Regardless if I financed or leased it, I will do what I want with the car as it is my choice. As for modding the car I will only do what can be taken off and sold at a later time should I choose not keep the car upon lease end.
As much as I appreciate everyone telling me what I should or shouldn't do(sarcasm), I merely asked what the best bolt on mods where from the experienced and knowledgeable guys as I am new to the Camaro/LS3 scene and was looking for input.

Gotta have thick skin buddy, good luck to you if you don't!

Also, if you feel like throwing money away on a car you will possibly give back then feel free to throw money my way! Lol!

People are just giving you their honest opinions about stuff BTW! Don't sound so angry or offended!

No problem here and certainly not angry about anything. If anyone detected anger or me being offended that is just their perception - My skin is thick enough to be a whale....
This isn't my first time on a car site/forum and I've been around a long time. Like I said, new to the this site and was looking for an opinion on the best mods not what I should or shouldn't do with my car.

Detecting a tune is very easy and Standard Operating Procedure for any engine failures or major engine warranty work.

If there is an engine failure And you take it to any GM dealer for warranty work the GM tech must plug in the Tech II OBD scan tool which displays your VIN number on the screen. They then look at the number of layers or flashes in the computer. If you have 2 layers (original OEM flash and then a second aftermarket flash) but GM only shows one (stock) a red light goes on and your car is flagged for further investigation before the warranty is approved. (If there was a recall you might have two layers and then a 3rd as an aftermarket tune ect.) The dealer technician must take a snap shop of the screen and sent it to GM for approval.

From there is is an uphill battle. Yes, I am very failure with Magnuson-Moss warranty act and GM must prove your modification to the car created the failure. But with a tune it is very simple in the eyes of the court for them to defend. You essentially tampered with a calibrated system that is also emissions related (fuel trims etc.) so once it is changed all best are off......beside the fact I guarantee they have more money and attorneys than you or I to dispute a claim.

When it comes to a tune you have to pay to play....assume you have no engine warranty as soon as it is tuned. If you move forward, finding a reputable tuning is even more critical.

Matt

I will save my rant about the Vitesse as I have expressed my detailed views in other threads.....But simply put I am a Sales Engineer/Senior Account Manager for an automotive supplier that manufacturers and sell pedals to almost every OEM.....I do not recommend tricking or playing with the pedal signal.

If you want better throttle response, have the throttle body ported and you will get the same "feel" without messing with electronics.

Do a search on Vitesee issues and there are a hand full of threads, here is one.

The more I mod my car the harder it becomes to let it go. I grow emotionally attached with every mod. I cant imagine getting it dialed in to give it back.

I would not run a 200 hit without a tune... You can use a module to pull timing and maybe be ok, but I wouldn't run that risk without some more fine tuning with a tuner.

I only leased the car because it was my only option at the time. I had a cts-v that I just wasn't feeling anymore so I traded it lease for lease with the dealer paying it off completely. I could have financed the Camaro but would have been in payments for 5-6 years and since I can retire in just under 4 years I didn't want to strap myself.
As far as reputable tuning I would either use ECS in NJ or the guy that did my TT Lightning in Connecticut (Total Induction Tuning).
Modding is just a sickness I cant cure and I like to go fast so eventually its gonna happen whether its the smart move or not....
