I had a piece of metal fall off a truck one time three day after having a car back from being repainted. I feel your pain. I hear that your color can be very hard to match. Good luck to you.

That's an ugly scar, I'm sorry to see that happen to any nice car. I just had something like that happen to me, luckily I was driving my 2001 Taurus wagon. Unfortunately with 10 million more illegal immigrants traveling our roads I don't think it will get any better.

Not that I have ever seen. Most highways I travel a littered with sizeable pieces of retread.

I have seen state troopers stop traffic to get larger debris, such as sections of exhaust, out of the road, but not when the traffic is at its heaviest.

Rosewood: "We got served a late supper. See this waiter comes down and.."
Taggert: "Billy!"
Bogamil: "And what did you have, Rosewood?"
Rosewood: "I think it was a shrimp salad sandwich...sir"

Love that movie.

In Birmingham it's ladders on the highway at rush hour, you hear that about once a week on the traffic reports. They don't know how to tie a knot here in Alabama, or tie two things together like a ladder and a ladder rack.

Happens here too. I won't drive behind anyone carrying a ladder anymore. Probably the most common thing though is shredded tires. People cheap out and get the retreads and the tread will separate from the tires due to (I think) the heat.

You can have tread separate on a non-retread as well. All you have to do is run them under-inflated and they will separate the radial belts from the core. Retreads aren't the only ones that cause this, nor are 18-wheelers!

It's such a shame that people do not take better care of their cars to the point that a Muffler would fall off, and they leave it there on the road. (The car who owned that muffer was long gone and not even attempting to get it.) If I had lost a muffler, I would at least pick it up off of the street.

I do have insurance, but the problem for me is, I will have to do without my car for a week or two because of this.
For me, an idiot went straight in a left only turn lane and hit my left side...2 weeks after I bought it. His Beemer was in bad shape as he hit those SS wheels.

Had to leave it at the dealer for 14 days... I feel your pain.. COULD HAVE STRANGLED HIM but kept my cool... After all it is just a car, but sometime, just wow...

Fair enough! I wasn't actually blaming the big rigs. Most of them are consumer grade stuff. Regardless, dodging the damn things is basically a daily occurrence

Rough brotha... I drove cross country a few weeks ago to set up for this r&d thing. While driving nearly 20+ hours including gas stops. I dodged 3 yes 3 five glom buckets in the middle of the expressway. Not on the side of road but 3 large white buckets. Just randomly in middle of expressway. One was on the lines and easy to maneuver aroundZ the other 2 where basically in the middle of lane. Slammed on breaks for one beciase of last second response, then swerved. Other one saw it coming and slowly went around.

I'm so mad right now. How the hell can someone lose a tailpipe and not go back for it? It's late now but In will get pictures in the morning and post them.

Anyone else have any horror stories like this with their Camaros? It would help me feel better if I knew I wasn't the only Camaro owner who had an accident like this.

Thanks for your time in reading this, and your comments will help me feel better.
Your not alone....i drove 6 hours to pick up my car.....was snowed in the day i was going to get it. The weather cleared...i was in my car 10 mins when a car kicked up a steel plate on the road. My wife hit it....sent it into my lower front bumper. Resulting in a huge scrape and a 4 inch crack.
