Its probably not worth $400 for the 16hp alone, but if you're going to add other performance mods, its worth having it to eliminate an air flow bottleneck.

Lots of people spend wayyyy more than $400 on aesthetic mods. I love the way it looks under the hood. I also like knowing that incoming air flow isn't restricted.

I immediately felt a difference. It pulls harder at 4500 rpm than stock. I dynoed 408 at the wheels after I slapped mine on. All I had was a CORSA ZL1 Cat Back prior. Also, it idles a lot smoother as well. Not sure how or why but it does. I've noticed it's not as "notchy" either when down shifting. I HIGHLY recommend getting one if you can shell out the 400. I was skeptical about CAI's for a loooong time as well. However, I got a smoking deal on mine from a buddy that did not want to install his.

The bad part is that being in France, I'd pay 500usd intake+shipping ... for low gains, i might go for a K&N filter instead...

Funny you mention the idle part. From day one, that weird idle has been an issue. Ever since the Z28 intake install, it idles smooth and consistent. Always put in 93 gas, so no gas issue here. Perhaps it's the new MAF that came with the Z28 Intake? But I did have the "strong" MAF before this one too.

Ohhh, yeah shipping is an issue for you. Well i'd still do it if I was you. You'd be the only 1LE in France with a Z/28 intake LOL!

Yup, I had the "strong MAF" as well. Interesting...

I'm going to slap my "strong" MAF on classifieds to see if anyone is interested.

P.S. AGM rules!

Its all cumulative. Once you get the cold air intake, ported throttle body, and longtube headers installed with a tune, you will really notice the difference.

btw I discarded my CAI CAI in favor of us the z28 CAI, and I couldn't be happier that I did.

I guess there's a big chance I am already the only one with a 1LE in France anyway!

there must be like under 500 Camaro's in France and 1LE weren't available for sale at Chevy dealerships

Thanks for the nice review. I just ordered one. I should have it in a couple of days.

Yes, but isolating vibration from the intake manifold may be a good thing a few years down the road. Could be stress fractures and so on...

And to think anyone can feel the HP difference between the Z28 and any other intake is silly.
Silly is the person who calls himself a driver, and cannot feel the difference between before and after! I immediately felt the difference, as I already knew what to expected from my SS. After the Dyno test I ran the car about 30 miles, right away I felt the car different. First thing I noticed was how much less I had to press down the accelerator, I had more pedal response. Got home and slapped a Bo White PTB, and was blown away. As of right now, those are my only mods. I'll tell you with all honesty, this bitch runs better than stock, yeah, way better!
