My 2013 ss did this a month ago but started back up and was ok. Monday it would not stay running, but after several stops and stalling it stayed running, several cel's, tach, spedo, guages did not work. Left it in garage until this morning when I started it to take it to dealer to check it out. Started fine, no lights, everything working. At dealer now. They say it has several codes and says they show some reprogramming, asked if I had a chip in it. After i told them I have not none anything to it they are trying to figure out what is going on.

They found B101E stored in ECM they reprogramed both modules. Drove 200 miles with no problems.

I know you said completely stock but do you have just exhaust? or even an axle back? My car did the same a while back. I started the car and it started kind of rough and in a second or two it died and I started smelling gas. I waited about a minute while scratching my head. Started it again and it started fine. Car was brand new only had exhaust on it. Took it to the dealer and they found nothing. It was only about 70-75 degrees that morning it did it.
the next day I had a CEL and was told I was running lean. All I had was exhaust nothing else. So after some researching I decided to try to rule out gas first. I ran all the gas I had out and refilled at a different gas station and been only going to that gas station since and never had it happen again. although a couple of times while running a tad low on gas I went to a gas station close by my job and got a CEL, next time I was told I was running rich. Because of the strong smell of gas when It happened I assumed it was bad gas which Is why I just been sticking to the gas station I haven't had an issue with and doing a fuse pull at least once a week. |

Im wondering if the Range left some kind of footprint? My range does throw codes on the car from time to time and it would take several drive cyclles to remove that record I know. Just curious as I was of the opinion it could not be traced...

Here is a test to see if the fuel system is leaking back and loosing it's stored pressure in the rails. This can be a injector leaking allowing this or the fuel pump/regulator as well. Before you try and cranking, turn key on for 5 seconds, then turn off, then turn on for another 5 seconds and crank. If it fires right up and does not kill this is an indication your loosing that fuel pressure that is normally still present on start up. Try and let me know if that has any effect on it.

I wonder about the Range, because mine did not start this until after I plugged in the range
