I just got a great trade in offer for my 2012 SS camaro and I'm going in tomorrow to buy a 2015 ZL1. Before I do that I want to get everyones opinion on this.. (Black on Black 6 speed ZL1)

Should I wait for the 2016 ZL1, or is there even going to be a 2016 ZL1? I heard rumors of the new ZL1 only having 20 more hp, if thats the case I love the current look of the 2015 ZL1 and would just buy it..

It's been posted many times here - you may have to wait till 2017 for the next ZL1/Z28.

Just look at what Chevy did with the new Gen 7 Corvette that came out in 2014....the Z06 didn't come out till the 2nd year, 2015.

The Gen5 ZL1's are very mod friendly and with just pulley swaps, a cai, and a tune will get you 100+ more crank HP. Add headers and hi-flo cats for more.

If you can swing it I would go ahead and get the 15 ZL1.

Id say get the 15 ZL1 you should be able to get a good deal and the Gen6 ZL1probably won't be out til the 17 model year.

Oh alright its been awhile since I been on the forums but thanks for the info!! And nice thats good to know as well, nothing wrong with some more hp!

definitely wait for the 650hp motor. you'll be paying a LOT more for the Gen6 vs the old model. but new is new.

i would wait unless you are getting a great deal on the 15. i think the new body style will grow on you and the inside of the 16 is so much nicer than the 15.

I would get the '15.
Even though people are saying that the 6th gen ZL1 is coming in 2017, GM has not announced anything about a 6th gen 1LE, ZL1, or Z/28.
There's a chance they never make one.

Get the '15.
And if by chance they make a 6th gen version, you could always sell the '15 and get the new one.

I am waiting til Gen6 2017...Hoping for either ZL1 or that they make the SS have an alternate engine available. They will already be offering the same suspension used now as an option, so why not motor too? Want mind seeing a LSX454 in it either...620hp/590tq
