Sucks - "Rowd" Roddy Piper Has Passed On

Whatever you feel about "pro" wrestling, this man was a true great showman, a good action movie star, and a class act. Condolences to his family. All my best Roddy.

A few clips:
"They Live":

A Highlander the Series episode:

Edit: and I spelled the damn title wrong......

I worked with Roddy for 3 years back in the WWF. Great guy.

Still have the gloves he used in WM2.

YouTube Piper's Pit Snuka - classic.

That sucks. He seemed like a nice guy and he was always entertaining.

He was still relatively young. That sucks. I know he and John Carpenter were friends. Thanks for the memories, Rowdy!

Makes my heart heavy. So many fond memories of my childhood were spent watching Hot Rod hosting Piper's Pit. I've passed the entertainment perspective of the WWF (the original) to my boys. My middle guy just bought an Ultimate Warrior (another great guy who increased the electricity of the entire arena whenever he stepped into the squared circle) T-Shirt that he'll be wearing to school next month. Warrior passed away last year, Macho Man a couple years before that. . .

It's truly surreal seeing your childhood "idols" pass away. :(

RIP Rowdy You were a true gentleman and entertainer. The best one was the Snuka episode of Piper's Pit. He smashed that coconut on Snuka's head. Miss those days of WWF.
