I'm a new member here with only just the basics set up on my account so far, but thought I should finally introduce myself.

We just became the happy owners of a new 2013 Hot Wheels Special Edition!

Since I'm new and I'm not exactly sure if I am doing the right thing here yet, I thought I would keep this first post short until I know that I'm in the right thread/place to share my story about the car, how we got it, my questions, etc. so any guidance on where and how I should proceed would be great!

I've been a Camaro lover since I was a little girl (the first car I ever drove in was my Dad's 1975 Camaro as a baby on the way home from the hospital!) and I'm looking so forward to being a part of a forum of all Camaro Lovers!

Thanks again so much! Christy
PS I just quickly wanted to add, I was FINALLY successful in finding a NJ personalized plate! It took forever to find a Hot Wheels abbrevation that no one had already. I'd like to share the plate I finally got as I see some of you have shared yours, but I see some black them out, so I'll hold off until I hear back if I should share the plate I finally was able to get (curious if all the other Hot Wheel themed plates taken already were by other HWSE owners or just others who like Hot Wheels)
And BTW, this whole NJ "front plate" law is so infuriating with the HWSE Camaro! I have until the 31st to get it on, and I am not liking that! It totally takes away from one of the HWSE's best attributes!
Welcome to the club. Do a search for retractable front plate mounts.

If you're on Facebook, find the 2013 hotwheels special edition group

Thank you for the welcomes!

Sorry I have not posted any pics or my story yet. Actually, I am stuck in a state of limbo the last few days that has now become worrisome.

I was looking forward to posting how we got the car and the deal we got, but I have this issue of not receiving my registration from the dealer yet, and I need it by Friday or the car is off the road because the dealer tags expire. We have been on the phone all day yesterday and today and all we get is the run around and promises of being called back and never getting a call back.

Anyway, we got this car for a great deal. It is actually old "new" stock in that it was never sold to anyone previous to us. A Chevy dealer had it for the last 2 years before they sold it to the wholesaler with whom we bought it from.
Another big reason we jumped on the deal was that the wholesaler only bought the car in January and registered it only in April of this year. It only had 23 miles on it! And because of that, the Chevy factory warranty was only activated when the wholesaler bought it, which means the warranty just started now in April 2015 and not in 2013! So it was really like buying a new Camaro with all of the top options for almost half the price (and a Hot Wheels no less!) When we bought it it only had 200 miles on it! It hasn't even broken-in yet.

Anyway, I am hoping this registration issue is just a snafu on their part, and we will get it by Friday in order to inspect.

Anyway, I am hoping this will be done with soon so I can get back to enjoying the car and posting about it. I promise to take pics soon!

Again, thank for the welcomes and info. I am going to go check out the South Jersey Camaro.
Christy

Hi guys!

I thought I would give an update, after some digging around and using my "DMV" connections, I got another temp registration from the dealer. Hopefully I'll have the real registration in the next week or two.

Long story short, I called the Chevy delear who orginally had the car. My HW was actually brought in from the dealership for someone who had a "Hot Hweel" themed business. The car was never put for sale, and was actually stored away, untouched for 2 years. So I guess after 2 years, the dealer wasn't holding on it anymore, and sold it with a "certificate of origin" which is what a car direct from the factory comes with so it's first title is with the first owner who buys the car new.

So what it seems, the place I got it from sold it to us without a title. Well, as a used car dealer, you cannot sell a "new" car, aka, "certificate of origin". It has to be titled in the dealer's name first. (Which seems they were trying to flip a title to avoid paying taxes by titling it in their names)

So with the DMV investigator on them, all of the sudden they got things rolling.

And this is why I never ever bought from a used dealer before and never will. The only reason why I did this time is because we got this Camaro, even though a 2013, it is a brand new Hot Wheels Edition which turned out to be 1/2 the price of a new Camaro, and furthermore, since the car was still new, the Chevy warranty only just went in to effect a couple months ago.

So, while it has been a hassle after buying this car, I am sure it will be all worth it in the end.

I actually just finished my first small project for the car. I just have to figure out how to post pictures in a post. (Any help?)

Thanks everyone! Christy

This was my first arts and crafts project! Took forever to find a frame that was wide and flat enough for the emblem. I used a "black Crome" frame

All,
I have traded my HWSE convertible on a new 2016 Stingray. Could not pass it up...
Sad to leave the HWSE world, but happy with my purchase.
By the way, hope you all keep the car. It's worthless right now on trade in...lol
