Got my new cable and installed. No faceplate buttons seem to do anything, but I can short the mode connector and control it that way. Question for those that have it installed, the instructions shows the 44 pin connector with the SW Can green wire tap. Did that - the instructions for camaro show a blue and white tap also into a 18 pin connector which i dont have on my 2014 mylink (non-nav) - just ignore right? I ask cause i am not getting audio through the HDMI - video is working (manual mode switching only), but for audio I have to cheat and use the 3.5mm audio cable.

I am also waiting on info from them about why mylink buttons are not controlling this.

DIP Switches are 1,3,8 on.

thanks Gang

If you have Mylink, there should be an 18-pin connector going in to the faceplate. The wires on that connector are high and low CAN. You need to tap them if you want the buttons on your faceplate to work.

To get audio you have to connect the 3.5mm cable to the aux input. Do you have the source for mylink set to AUX?

Up and running and could not be happier with it. If these were stocked in the US I think we would see a lot more people getting them.... something about overseas ordering...

I was thinking, maybe of a group buy for those that dont have - think we could save you $$ especially in regards to the fedex international expense...

Does anyone know if I could use the NAV HDMI input for a DVD player? I have a car BluRay player with HDMI output. I'm using the normal HDMI input for a APCAST to mirror my iPhone. I have the unit, but it is not installed yet. I'm waiting for my NAV upgrade to come in.

Negative, but you could use the AV2 input and just use composite video and audio. OR you could get an HDMI switch with a remote for multiple ports. Just make sure the switch takes 12v to power and not 120.

Something like this even requires no power:http://www.amazon.com/aoeyoo%C2%AE-1...lt+hdmi+switch

Thanks Rainbow1616. I think I'll stick with the composite since audio is an issue too.

I have a question about Chromecast and using an iPhone. I am assuming you use the iPhone as a hotspot and connect through the WiFi to the Chromecast device which is plugged into the HDMI port. The question I have is the sound sent also? I am a little confused about the use of the AUX port. Usually sound is sent through the HDMI cable along with the video.

Had the same issue. The sound goes to the chromecast but not through the system. You use the AUX 3.5mm in the center console and connect to the chrome cast out or you can also connect to the RCA out on the hdlink box. Either way, the out from those HAS to go to the 'aux in' in the center console.

So the chrome cast device has an audio port also? (I haven't purchased one yet) It's really too bad they didn't include the audio in the HDMI signal. That would have made it easy and more fun to do. You could have multiple HDMI devices with a multiport switch. Thanks for the quick reply.

I just looked at chromecast device and it looks like it only has a mini USB on the back. So how to you get audio from it? I'm confused.
