This really sounds like an electrical problem. If your engine were seized, you would still have electrical power. Just the fact that you can't run a scan tool tells me this. As some have said, it could be your battery. Could also be a faulty ground, or something along those lines. Perhaps someone else can give some more info on the elec. system, I'm no guru on that.

Now, if you have lights, it could still be your battery. With just enough power to engage the starter but no enough to actually crank the engine. Assuming that as you described, I understand that you turned the key, it went "clank", and that was it. While it could be many things, and a seized engine is one of those things. I would start by pulling the battery and getting it checked, a simple easy place to start. If it's good under load test, then it's time for a carriage ride to the dealer. They said to drive it until something happened, well, something happened.
Ok, got in car, turned key to on position, turned key to run/start and it did start for mere seconds then I heard a clank and the engine stopped, no CEL or any warnings have popped up, I tried to start it back up and it just acts like there's something keeping it from wanting to crank. Battery is good, def not that.

Correct, it's trying but it just acts like there's something keeping it from turning. Hence why I think it's seized up. If it was the battery I'd hear nothing but clicks and the car wouldn't have started to begin with.(hopefully nobody else will tell me check the battery..)

That certainly doesn't sound good. You may have lost the timing chain and have pistons hitting valves or maybe a broken rod. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Yep, and this is why I told them about it when it started thinking they wouldn't want to replace a whole engine but it looks like they just might if it's bad, all it took was scoring on 1 cylinder from my trailblazer for them to replace it under warranty. But the actual mechanic also said they don't refurb these engines anymore because metal shavings usually clog one of the tiny filters and just causes problems.

So if this happens, do I get the same engine for my year or the new one?

It sounds like you added oil to the car because you thought it was low. chances are you have overfilled the engine with oil and seized it. Drain it and measure how much comes out. If you're lucky its a cheap fix.

No, And yes. First one in this camaro. Bought my trailblazer used with 40k on it already(If I recall correctly) and cylinder 5 went bad out of no where last year.

And honestly I don't drive "crazy" in fact if I was to have a problem it should have been a long time ago when I first got the car lol. Bothers me that it's probably needing a new one with roughly 25k miles on it since I have babied the car for a while now.

I said I changed the oil myself(what little there was)....not added....meaning I went and bought ramps and everything else that I needed to change the oil from that point forward. Mobil1 Full synthetic, and Mobil1 extragaurd filter.

I've never had a problem with anyone doing oil or leaking oil since my old Nissan which was 2 cars ago now, until autonation touched this one and then grapevine decides to ignore the knock. This is why I'm so aggravated and not sure on where I should take it.

Not to be an ass, but why to people with little or no mechanical aptitude or knowledge buy a performance car? Someone has already suggested a way for you to determine if the engine has seized. Have you tried it? If you don't know how, surely you know someone who does.

Well why do you eat the food you eat? Because you want it right? If you won't help get outta here, I'm not asking for a smart mouth from some elitist that you apparently are. I believe I said I don't have a garage full of tools didn't I? Is my misfortune really a reason for you to jump up in here with a remark like that?

ULTIMATELY the question is WHERE do I take the car since I can't seem to trust the 2 dealers closest to me. Others have suggested and I responded.

People buy houses that know nothing about construction. That's why there are people that get paid to help them. Same thing with cars. You don't have to be a mechanic to own a nice car. You just have to know who to take it to.
Besides, he already said that he doesn't have any tools to try most of these suggestions. I wouldn't be messing with it anyhow if it's under warranty. Why would you?
