Clear Coat Scratches...Help!

I think this happened last time I let someone wash/wax my car. Never again. Now I have tons of clear coat scratches on by trunk lid and top of side panels. I tried to take pictures so you guys could see. I've done some reading and it looks like polish is the way to fix. I am a COMPLETE newbie so I need advice on what to use and tips on how to use it. You can only see it close up in direct sunlight but bothers the hell out of me. I cannot catch my fingernail in them so they are definitely clear coat.

Polish at the very least. Take it to someone and get it corrected, if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.

That will clean up with a machine polisher. Check out some polishing videos and then decide what polisher and products to use. It's really not that hard and will give you great satisfaction that you fixed it.

So far I've order the porter cable 7424XP and the chemical guys hex logic buffing pad kit 5.5 in. Is that sufficient? as for polishes I was considering Wolfgang swirl removed and sealant

You should do a test spot and start with the white pad and work up until you are satisfied with the results. Then use that combo to correct the rest. Once you are use to the process you will have a better idea where to start. It's always best to use the least aggressive products to correct the defect.

Depends. I usually start off with the white pad and the least corrective polish compound to see if it will correct the scratches, if not I then proceed with the orange/M105 and polish it off with white pad/M205. I love this combo as it is very easy to work it. Do not be scared to set your PC Cable to speed 6 with the orange/m105 and speed 6 with the white/M205. PC Cable will not ruin your paint, a rotary buffer will as they're able to do some insane speeds. Also check out Meguiar's Website on how to video's and also youtube. This is a very easy detailing job to do but it is very time consuming! I use to do my Vette all the time and it was 6-8hr job broken into two days over the weekend for me.

From my finish I have Orange is the heaviest cutting pad you have excluding yellow which I never use. You orange and you'll get a haze and you'll see some minor swirls from the pad, then hit it with blue or green and it will look perfect. As far as polishes I keep it cheap and use M205 and M105, they're found locally and reliable.

Not to worry, clearcoat scratches very easily. You will need a swirl mark removing polish and a buffer in order to make quick work of those marr marks.
