Subwoofer to Boston Acoustics Amps

The amp has inputs for the radio signal.

They're gonna pull out the interior of your trunk and charge you a few hours of labor. They're going to cut the wires leading to your factory amp to splice in RCA jacks to plug in your sub amp.

Seriously, get ********s "X3" harness. It's $70. Whatever shop you're going to is going to charge you more than that.

This is all it is. It just plugs in and that's it.

Just trust us; we will not tell you wrong! The plug-n-play FARK is that easy to install; even for a novice! Since you dad has the experience; just but the harness and let him put it in. A shop is going to splice, and when you decide to make upgrades/changes (trust me you will) you still wont have a clue what they did, especially if they cut your wires.

I'm currently running a 1000w Kenwood amp I've had for 5 years, and an Rockford Fosgate Punch 10in. I got all my stuff installed at Fry's for like a few 20s, they warranty their work as long as you have the car, plus they do good work.
Anyway, since you're a catcher, This will take probably 55-65%of your trunk space.

Note: I have like 1cm of clearance from the top of the trunk (the little metal circles that hang down a bit) of the inside, and I had like 1/2 an inch on each side of the trunk opening when I put it in. So whatever you get, MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE!

I have a question about wiring the speakers. I bought the T-Harness for the RCA going to the new amp. My question is how are you guys wiring the speakers? I don't want to cut any of the factory wiring. I am replacing my BA amp with a 5 - channel and adding a sub. Is there an adapter to plug in the factory harness? I haven't had any luck finding one yet. I'll try factory speakers first and upgrade later if needed. Thanks.

It's REALLY easy to convert the low level inputs to RCA plugs- then out to a sub amp- then use the amp or crossover pass through back to the BA amp. I did it on mine to run a processor on the front channels and it was simple.

They do still have the complete kit. I ended up searching for FARK on their website. I also emailed Steve to make sure it shows up in the Camaro section. It looks like it is there now. I got one on order minus the X3 harness which I already have. This is definitely the way to go. You can easily put it back to stock if you ever sell the car.

If you are just adding a sub and a sub amp to the Boston system no need for the fark. its way too much money. I just t taped the right wires and added an amp kit. You only need to t tap the inputs for your amp. There is a thread on here of EXACTLY which wires to t tap.

Lets see....$69.00 for a complete plug and play, can't screw it up accessory that can be put back to stock by simply unplugging it, to get line level out vs cutting factory wires and using unreliable t-taps to make an RCA out for a subwoofer because you think the FARK is too much... My choice would be the FARK every time....

You must have money to throw away then. Most of us don't. There is no cutting. Just 5 quick t taps with the right connectors. EOS

Unreliable t-taps? It's a radio, not the ABS.
I soldered my connections, but could return it to stock by connecting the RCA cables together with a dual female RCA adaptor. Total cost- $14 for the nice quality RCA cables.
