Exhaust Upgrades thoughts
I'm finally getting a chance to do some upgrades to my 2014 Camaro. I have a few ideas running around my head on what direction I want to go in lol. I had a 2010 Camaro that I had did a Flow master axle back along with DT shorty headers. I know headers is no longer an option with this motor. I don't have a ton of money to spend at the time. I do have enough to do some upgrades though. I was trying to decide on either going with ARF high flow cats or an axle back system for now. My goal is more to have a better sound rather then worried about a jump in HP. While pricing out parts I also came across the MBRP S7020409 Cat-Back Exhaust for about $560 which looks to be a very good price on that system. I haven't seen that system any cheaper than $750. So now I'm really up in the air on what direction to go lol. I was wonder if I could get some thoughts or ideas on what direction I should go. I'm hoping some members might have done similar upgrades and could share their thoughts on how they like the sound of their setups. T.I.A. for any thoughts or help. Steve

It is very nice to see even the V6 so appreciated. I had a 2002 V6 M5, it was slow, sounded like a boat, but it was still fun! I am sure the new V6 is waaayy more fun. Thanks for sharing hte video!

Sanjay is correct. I LOVE my resonated x-pipe + muffler delete. Best $300 I ever spent. I have some solo high flow cats coming in this weekend. I'll post back with how they sound with this setup.

Looking forward to hearing your setup as well. Emissions testing is INSANE in Atlanta. Plus I'm holding off on getting a tune. Hopefully my solos won't give me a CEL.

Thanks for the replies. In the end I ended up ordering the MBRP S7020409. Autoanything did a price match to Amazon. I am getting it for about $559 shipped to my door. The sales guy that took my order was shocked by the price. It came out to be more then $200 cheaper then any other site. One of the reasons I thought it was the best way to go is I don't want it to be overwhelming or raspy if I decide to go with hi flow cats down the road. I've also read nothing but good things about the system. Again thanks for the replies.

I think the Magnaflow Exhaust Resonated X pipe and muffler delete sounds nice.

I researched all I could and landed on Borla 11845 S-type axle back for my 2015 LFX. No drone, no rasp, deep and attractive sound.
BTW, the proper definition of drone is 1800 to 2200 typical on an automatic at highway in 6th around 70 cruising, right? It's more of a resonation/hum in the structure of the car. Drone is NOT hearing the exhaust at higher RPMs, that's just hearing the exhaust. Correct? https://youtu.be/kkRL_8wHsHQ My Id wants it louder but my Super Ego says it's perfect. Final answer? Sounds great, classy pony car sound, head turner, quality. The deletes and others above have rasp IMO. |

Sorry Sanjay, they don't sound bad at all, but IMO in the videos I've listened to including yours, I hear tinny overtones that I consider raspiness. Very subjective of course, but something I don't hear on my Borlas.
