Verifying a true 1LE

Howdy ho.

I found a 1LE to purchase, but I need to verify that it is a true 1LE from the factory. It's a stick, it's got the hood, the splitter AND the inherited ZL1 wheels so I'm 99% sure it's real. But there's no 1LE badging, just silver SS on the front and rear.

I have the VIN - is there a way I can find out if it's a 1LE from the factory?

1le doesn't come with 1le badging to my knowledge. I could be wrong though

Does it have a suede shift knob and steering wheel? All 1LE's have them.

Strut tower brace under the hood? Black rear spoiler?

Yes, to all of those, the suede shifter and steering wheel are probably the easiest way of verifying a 1le. But you can ask around if you want to be 100% sure.

I've been told only 1LE's have white steering columns......I have no written info to verify that

The vin letter wont distinguish a 1LE.
There are a few guys on here that can get a build sheet.
PM me if no one steps up. I can ask a buddy...

OR open the trunk, lift up the carpet on drivers side to see the build tag.
1LE, FE6, MM6 and MN6, should ALL be on there.

5th letter is a "T"! Everything's suede. It's got the strut brace. Nice leather seats to put my tushie on.

Ok, I've seen too many pics of guys who have put the 1LE badges on...

Only thing that doesn't check out is the trunk lid spoiler - there doesn't look like it has one - but it's black, so it may. Doesn't have the RS package either, which is fine by me. I was going to replace the headlights with the regular stock ones anyway.

Really, the wheels kinda prove it if nothing else. Thanks for the help!

BTW - doesn't GM sell everything with floor mats? This one doesn't have any!

The 5th letter T can still be be a regular SS Coupe - at least on 2013. I havent looked at 14 or 15.

Don't worry about the vin. 1LE's have white steering shafts. Regular SS's are black. Best way to tell.

ZL1's also have white steering shafts I believe. But if this guy is accidentally buying a ZL1 at a 1LE price then more power to him.

this is the best way to verify a factory 1LE.................of course anything can be faked.

So is the 1LE steering shaft different than a standard SS, besides the color?
