Then, there are CAR GUYS who're really, really, really into cars. We love them and they define our lifestyle.

When you see things like this, or toaster ovens and fish bowls driving down the road, it reminds the car guys that not everyone is as into car guys as they/we are.
I hope to never be into a car guy. I think it would piss my wife off! It's not really my thing anyway.

There's a huge difference between being a car guy and thinking your car is an "investment" (in the typical sense). When I buy an investment, I expect it to make money. A car is a utilitarian investment because I'm investing in something I will utilize rather than sell for profit.

This doesn't mean I'm not a "car guy". I work for GM, I love my car, I take really good care of it. But I don't expect that when I sell it, I'll make a profit, nor should most people. That would be an atrocious investment strategy. I don't care how well you care for a 2014 Camaro SS, you're not going to make a profit when you sell it. It's a utilitarian investment, even if it's only utility is the enjoyment that you get out of taking care of it.

Is there a difference in saleable value between a car that has been garage kept vs. a car like mine that gets driven every day and used like an actual car? Of course there is. Do I care about that difference enough that I would keep my Camaro in the garage? No, not even close. I have no interest in a beater because my Camaro does everything I need it to do.

That was my favorite part about my 4th gen. I fit so much in that hatch back. It was fantastic. Two bikes would fit WITH gear!

I, as well, was just offering another option that some may not have thought of.
