Catch Can from Custom Billet BC-175

Searching around yielded no real info on the Catch Can from Custom Billet BC-175 sold by Phastek, Ohio Speed, and direct.

Price is right and quality seems good, but can't find any data on effectiveness. I see the Elite and Apex talked about mostly favorably. RX 50/50.

Anyone using this catch can?

TGCammy,

What kind of info are you looking for? We have tested the can on our shop car, which has the Turbonetics turbo kit on it. As the car sits right now 625rwhp and no issue, the can does its job.

Most all catch cans have similar internals, usually the housing and mounting are different between manufacturers. Each manufacturer has a different material that they might use to catch the oil but other then that they are all routed to a similar location.

The Billet Custom catch can has a wire mesh on the inside that will catch the oil in the air that is pushed through. When the air pushes through the excess oil will be caught by the mesh and dropped down into the can. We do suggest to check the can as often as 500 miles or every oil change.

We have a local customer that says this catch can has caught a lot of oil out of his system. He does have a cam and some other mods but it works out great for him, he checks the can every 1,000 miles.

If you have any other questions shot me a PM. I hope this helps you.

Thank you,
Ricardo

Thanks for your info on this catch can Ricardo.

If it performs like the others, this is a good value. I like the way it looks, but if it is inferior in performance, no sense.

Other threads talk about other models having components inside that work better, like steel wool'ish stuff, vs. just the screen on this one. Any thoughts? That's why I was hoping to find some users.

Thanks.

TGCammy,

The material used is basically a finer mesh material that will still do the same job that the Billet Custom catch can uses. I dont have a Billet Custom can in-stock right now but I do have the Moroso. Below are some pictures that will show you the mesh that is used. The Billet Custom can uses similar material.

I would have pulled the mesh our for you but I dont have the tools in front of me right now.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you,
Ricardo

Really helpful, I did not see the mesh in the Billet Custom, glad to know it's comparable. I like the way it looks. I will be the one; next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the help!
