Funny, today I was out cruising and saw four SS Camaros in less than ten minutes of travel. Must be a fire sale going on somewhere. Later I saw three or four V6 models out cruising. So the 5th gen is old news, who cares? Like others, I bought my car because I like it. My Camaro is a permanent addition to the fleet, I'll probably add a Vette to compliment it later on.

Went for coffee earlier this morning at about 4:30 am

4 young adults walking along( probably out all night) 2 guys 2 gals see my car and I get a Whooo Hooo Camaro I love your car man and 3 of the 4 give me a thumbs up.

I think she still has the "ït" factor.

I think sometimes when we get used to a car we forget how special they are.

The other day I saw a 2013 RS 'vert in the parking lot of Kroger. Black. Clean. Very nice. All stock- but it was clean. A friggin' work of art.

I found the owner of the car in the store. How? Because he had a black "Camaro RS" ball cap on. He was an older gentleman, shopping with his wife. I would have chatted with him a bit but he was with his wife and on the cell phone talking with someone else.

Unique? Not really. Still has that "it" factor? Certainly.

I think when you start to see the McDonald's bags filling up the back seat, cruddy, peeled off paint and dirt and dents everywhere on several 5th gens, THAT'S when you know that "it's" over.

The word "Camaro's" indicates possession: The Camaro's roof, the Camaro's horn, the Camaro's wheel. You don't use an 'apostrophe s' because of the final vowel, either. An 'apostrophe s' never makes a noun plural. Never, ever.

Yes yes, I'm a bad man for telling you this. Heaven forbid I give somebody a help.
You could always start a thread giving advice about English and grammar rules or PM the offender in an attempt to help him/her. Both could be quite helpful without the possibility of derailing the topic at hand.

Back to the topic. I think these cars will always be cool, they just aren't as relevant as they were except ,like others have said, for the higher end models. That's just life. It happens with every car.

I could care less. I enjoy the car, and I get plenty of compliments about it on a near-daily basis. Strangers come up to me in parking lots and say "nice car" and then tell me about the first-gen Camaro they owned in high school. I sometimes meet other folks who have 5th-gen cars, and I've yet to meet one who is not as proud of their ride as I am of mine.

Are the 5th-gens totally unique? No, I will grant you that, but I still think they are something special. If you don't think your car is show-worthy anymore because the market is saturated, that's fine. If that is something that is truly important to you, then maybe it's time for an upgrade, but I disagree that these are not special cars, and that the community that owns them are not special people.
Right On!

You're regularly a dick around here. And your Camaro is certainly not what I would consider "better looking". Maybe you should chill out a bit.

One of the guys in our Camaro club had an old guy confront him and ask why he should be with the show cars with a new factory built car and he was asked to leave.
I have to ask what kind or what was the theme of the show? When I was stationed in Hawaii, I was the President of a Corvette club for a few years (late '90's/early 2000's). There were some shows we and our sister Camaro club would get invitations to with the stipulation we could only enter 'earlier' year models ('50's - '70's). On the flip side, there were shows where one or both our clubs were asked to play a front & center role with all year models.

I think you and I are in the minority for having an understanding on how apostrophes' work...

It's certainly not just me that gets attacked, there is always some negative or personal attack on posts. This forum wasn't like that in the beginning.

Oh yeah, thanks for the education Mr. Grammer.

Did you go to the CmaroFest this year? Each one of those cars there had something special to them, yes there were a ton of Camaros but each one was unique some how. Now if you bring a modern car into a classic show or cruise in then yes I can see your point. So if you feel that it's not special to you anymore then that's your own personal opinion, the rest of us who bought them will enjoy the attention it still grabs.

I spent the last two weekends with Camaro owners who would heartily disagree with you.
At Camaro Fest and BBOMG there were hundreds of 5th gen owners who will always see their cars as special. Not just as cars but because of Team Camaro and the people who build them. The Camaro community is, without doubt, the most passionate group of car nuts going. Whether it's a first gen or the upcoming *********, we all love our cars and I for one don't care what someone else thinks of my 45th. It is special to me.

You knew the grief was coming when you posted. All forums are like "this one" IMO.

Allow me to pile on; I bought my Camaro for ME! What was I thinking?

Oh, dang. I'm confused. Grammer is my mom's mom. I think. But "Mr.?"
Is that maybe Gramper? That doesn't seem right. Is it a graham cracker? Wait, no, that doesn't seem to fit.

Is it Kelsey? That's the only Mr. Grammer I know of..

Cheers!

(The reason the OP got some negative responses was because it asked for nobody to be insulting... but then was sort of insulting to a couple of posters specifically, and vaguely insulting to Gen 5s (see, not Gen 5's!) in general. Asking for no negativity or insulting words in a thread that starts out being sort of negative and insulting is only begging and pleading for hackles to be raised. Just ask my Grammer, she knows.)

There has been a ton of cars that were the stars of the showin movies and on TV. The gen 5 camaro in transformers would be very low on that list. General Lee, Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, Bullit Mustang and the bullit charger, Vanishing Point Hemi Challenger, Milner's yellow 32, Christine, Mel's ride in Mad Max, Sean's DB5 in Goldfinger. I could go on all day.
