Definitely a far cry from June 2009 when I had to find a gas station with as little people as I could just to be able to get gas and get out of there. People taking pics with the car in parking lots, people hanging out their windows on the road taking pics.

And that was bone stock. I went with less is more on visual mods and more with performance but learned that stance is everything.

I, too, parked in the parking lot at car shows and cruise ins but I did it from the beginning. Had people ask me why and I told them that I felt it should be something unique and special to be on display. My car will soon hit 100k and while it looks really ......... bitch'n .......... .......... I never felt it was worthy of being in a car show. Not even 6 years ago.

Yeah, there are a lot of them on the streets. I was sad to see them starting to show up in the low end used car lots the last couple of years & so many folks driving them around as just another way to get from point A to point B. You can no longer just walk up to any random 5th Generation Camaro owner & hand them one of the C5 welcome cards & invite them to join your local Camaro club. Most of them now look at you like you are speaking Greek.

It is sad to see the 6th generations getting ready to come out & to see each birthday that passes for my car as both these things feel much like when I have another birthday & just feel that much older.

But to me they are still very special. They got it right with the re-entry of the Camaro. The biggest problem I see with both the update & the 6th generation is that it is pretty hard to improve on perfection & they really got it darn near perfect with the look of the 5th Generation. There is just something about the look of this Camaro that is like no other car on the road. It still turns heads wherever I drive it. It is my baby & that will never change for me.

I bought my Camaro to make me happy... I drive it to make me happy. What others may think, or even like, doesn't mean a thing to me. There are a zillion Prius', Camrys and Sentras on the road... someone likes them too.

This. Even in 2010, when I got mine, I could go all day without seeing another one. A week if looking for V8's. Summit White in general was nowhere to be found, especially with IOM stripes and interior. They were the new shiny "thing."

Fast forward to now and they're about as numerous as the 05+ Mustang, at every intersection. Gotta do a few mods to one's taste in order to separate yourself from the pack. Less is most certainly more and stance absolutely makes all of the difference. Things can also get very tacky and out of hand quickly. Of course, opinions will vary and as such mods will too. Or something like that. Ramble, ramble, ramble...

Yeah... Gen5 Camaros are THE Camaro that was brought back. Its not as significant as a 1st gen, but i would say it would be the next closest thing in the books as an attention grabber

Well said, Ruby!

It was nice being the newest, hottest, most unique car on the block. But, time changes that. What IS important is that YOU like it--- as I do mine!--- regardless of whether or not it's the only one around, or if many others have also agreed that it is badass enough to own!

They aren't special anymore. Except to the mustangs and corvettes I walk all over, I'm sure its a special day for them....

Soon enough the SS with be replaced with a stingray and the engine upgrades start all over again...

He may have been able to present the question better but I think the meaning is understood.

The 5th Gen Camaro isn't a head turner to the general public anymore the way it once was without some serious mods.
