Just pay a lawyer to get it reduced to a faulty equipment violation. Any points added to your licence will cost a lot more in the long run. Ive done it atleast 6 times in the last 15 years on both my bikes and cars

Should be able to get that dismissed... At the very least take a safety class so you dont get the points

Defensive driving court to get it off your record, can only do the defensive driving course once a year.

Fight it in court. Get a bunch if continuances and push the date as far as possible. Then show up to fight it. Usually the officer either won't show, or won't remember all the details.

If the officer doesn't show, the ticket is immediately dismissed. I've done that twice, only ended up paying a court processing fee? I think it was $30

Don't worry, you are 18 with a 2015 Camaro. I'm sure "Daddy" will cover the cost.

^ X2 on what pretty much everyone else said as far as advice. I'm surprised by 3 points for 9 miles an hour over the limit though. I know their hard asses in Florida about speeding but 3 points for 9 mph sounds like the punishment does NOT fit the crime...

Talk about punishment not fitting the crime....Good thing you weren't 3 psi low in your tires or it might get you a 4-game suspension.

Just don't throw away your cell phone. You know Goodell was just disappointed he couldn't get his hands on some nudies of Gisele.

Who wouldn't?

But I digress.

OP, just pay the fine, move on, in a couple few years, you'll either know you're a problem child without a license or you will learn how to not get caught. LOL

This wasn't the case for me, and I doubt for anyone else... ESPECIALLY in Florida like the OP. The day I went to court (Tennessee) to fight a speeding ticket the officer wasn't there. They made me wait 2 hours while they called him in. Then I tried to pull the "was the radar properly inspected that day" scheme and literally was laughed at by the judge.

OP... attempt to take a driving course. If that is not an option, ask for a continuance and get a lawyer. It'll be probably twice as expensive but the ticket will get dropped and stay off your record. I got a 30 over in a construction zone ticket (speed limit was 45, I was going 75....) and a $350 lawyer made it disappear.

GO to court. if first ticket... judge should be lenient for >10mph under the speed limit. Offer to take drivers improvement. Explain in court you were descending down the hill... of course speed will gradually increase... sounds like cop was out to trap...

Bad advice. No official likes to hear that old excuse. The first thing they will say is "You have brakes, don't you?" Best option is to be honest.
