Choosing a Dealership, Shortest Delivery Wait
I am about to order my 2SS, 6 man, Vic Red Camaro. I can choose from 4-5 dealerships, all within a 30 minute drive from my home. Their pricing ranges from 1% to 4% under MSRP. So, getting a good price is not an issue. I want to choose a dealer based on which one will get my car ordered, and built in the shortest time.
There have been a lot of posts here about allocation differences between dealerships that are not quite clear to me. Here is my question; How can I determine which dealership can offer the shortest delivery time. What specific questions should I ask the salesman or general manager to choose which dealership I should place my order? Please explain the ordering, allocation and build process? Thanks. Your shortest delivery time would be whichever dealership has the first open allocation. Keep in mind though that there is a contraint starting in the end of Sept. that will cause delays in production of SS cars.
Be sure that you choose a dealership that is responsible to you and that deserves your business. If you need a recommendation of a proven dealership send a PM to Camaro Scotty. |

If you are close to Berger Chevy, they are getting more orders pulled and placed quicker.
I heard this from quite a few people. I believe they are getting 15-20 camaro's a month. The larger the dealer, the quicker the movement. |

Try John Trotto at Buff Whelan in Sterling Heights. He was great to work with and they are a large Chevy dealership. They should have plenty of allocation. I pre-ordered and John kept me informed every step of the way and followed through on everything originally agreed on. Not one penny above MSRP. I am very happy with the sales experience I had with them.

"H Town"?
Hmm! Is that Hillsdale, Michigan? Harrison, Michigan? We actually have a Hell, Michigan (No Detroit jokes, please). Seriously, I assume you are talking Houston? Can't do that...too far to go for that "Free 1st Oil Change".

It doesnt have to do with the dealershiips size, It has alot to do with how the dealership is ranked. GM sent out letters after going out of the bankruptcy to the dealers that it knew it was keeping. It hasn't decided on rest, but I do know that the dealers who recieved those letters are getting alot more attention from GM on allocations. My dealership has been one of the top 6% of all Chevy dealers for the past 8 years, and We are getting twice as many allocations as our competitors in nearby cities, which have bigger franchises
