I do like the new Mustangs a lot, but based on my personal experience with Ford vehicles as of late I just could not buy one, the quality is seriously lacking on their vehicles. I'm not saying GM is any better, the only experience with a GM vehicle is my 2011 Camaro and its been rock solid.

I find this whole "Camaro interior- cheap plastic" outlook a bit odd. Like it was some new-found discovery.

Have any of you had a 2nd gen? Ever had to repair the door pull handle on one? Then you would know about cheap, Camaro plastic.

It's all relative. Compared to other modern cars I've owned and currently do own, in close to the same price range as my ZL1, the Camaro's interior is pretty subpar. It looks like they fixed that with the up coming model and the Mustangs I've been around with the premium package are far nicer than our cars inside. But, like everything else these are my opinions and they don't have to line up with yours or anyone else. If you like your and are happy with it, that 's all that matters. I don't hate mine enough to not own one.

I'm with you on this. I never found my interior to be "cheap" looking. Plastic? yes, but it's pretty nice. It has a very basic, retro feel and style to it.. which I like. It's a muscle car, not a luxury cruiser. I think people have forgotten what that means. I like the interior of the 5th Gen, especially my Recaro seats.

Don't get me wrong, Red2014SS, it's still cheap plastic, but it's been like that in Camaro for a LONG time. I grant you, the styling of the plastic is fine for the Camaro. Would it be nice to have a premium interior upgrade option? Sure. But can't miss what you don't have. The 6th gen seems like they're wanting to upgrade the interior materials based on what I've seen so far. But hopefully they don't waste a lot of $$ on interior upgrades.

Based on sales figures, it doesn't seem like a plush interior is high on Camaro buyer's "must have" list, anyway. If you want an upgraded interior, go get a Caddy or Beemer. The Camaro interior is right about where it should be for the car that it is and has been for decades. I love it because it doesn't pretend to be what it's not.

My jury is still out on the 6th gen for now, though.

Every god damn thing here in COMMIEFORNISTAN is going up so damn high! Food, Gas, taxes on this and taxes on that. This whole tech/dot.com boom hasn't helped me one bit, and the housing crisis here in the Bay Area is making things very hard. AHHHHH makes me so depressed that I can't afford this new one.
This is why we will most likely never again outsell the Mustang. I doubt GM cares though or they wouldn't have priced the 16 SS so ridiculously high.

I'm wondering if they didn't price them high, hoping people would buy more of the 4-cyl and 6-cyl models. They are facing tougher CAFE regulations and every V8 they sell adds into their average MPG stats.

if you're going to the mustang instead of the SS thats a good swap BUT! if youre paying for that price then might as well go for a 2014-2015 1Le or if the sense of having a "new" car bugs you because of the impending 6th gen surge but you dont want to pay the price I bet youre leaning towards the mustang.

i'll just get a 1Le IMO.
