Only one of my friends knows that I upgraded to the SS. The rest I won't even tell, theyll find out if they see it in my garage one day.

I forgot to say "in before VTC comment".

Too many issues with it. I'll buy a real tune before dropping $200 on that piece of junk

I never let anyone who is not on the insurance as an authorized driver drive anything. If they are not an authorized driver IE immediate family member and something happens, your insurance gets the hit, and your rates will also. The driver borrowing the car is off the hook for all costs and damages to include any possible medical, and costs above the coverage amount. In other words you get to eat everything, they walk. Not worth the risk.
As far as the Camaro, nope. The wife has been offered many times but declines and the teen can't drive it because it is a stick, and no driver under 25 are allowed to drive it as my policy is with Grundy on that one.

I had the above scenario happen to me when the son let his buddy try out his 325 an he hit 2 parked cars. End result was 2 totaled cars, one damaged. Sons friend walked, and I have never seen him again. My insurance covered everything, but went up by a fair amount.

All of my friends can afford their own cars and none of them are jumping up and down, "I wanna drive it! I wanna drive it!" It's a car, not a magical mystery tour. They are not on the insurance, I am.

Not a huge deal if I trust them. It's my baby, but it's only a car.

Brother, mother, father, fine, they can take it alone if they want. I need to be in the car with friends, and they can only be friends who:

A. Can afford to and would willingly pay any damage
B. Have owned a manual transmission car in the past
C. Aren't shitty drivers...haha.

Only if I know they're not stupid drivers. Even then, some don't want to for fear of damaging anything.

Hell yeah. Two of my friends and my wife all have Camaros. I let any of them drive mine as do they. In fact at the Fest my friend was driving on the AC track when my air bags deployed. Not his fault. Could've happened to me the lap before. He let me drive his car the rest of the weekend.

See with option A being a good choice, when medical liability comes into play their ability to pay quickly goes out the door, and then the real fun starts.

Fixing something like backing into a pole, is quite different than hospital bills, life flight bills, ambulance bills etc. It sucks but it is how things are these days.

I don't let anyone drive my car. Before I swapped the clutch, I did let my father, wife, and best friend drive it, but no-one else. Since the clutch swap, no-one drives it but me.

To go on a little rant about people driving my car, I actually just had my car in the paint shop to get the hood painted and stupidly assumed that it wouldn't be driven. However, to my surprise, when I took delivery, it had 3.5 miles on the trip odometer. The shop manager fed me some BS story about having to take it to their other location down the road because the buffing bay at their shop wasn't ready. Oddly enough though, my brother-in-law had his bumper re-painted earlier in the week at this same shop, and his car came back with only .4 miles on the odometer. So you tell me why his had very little mileage and mine came back with 7x as much..... Anyway, I had to drop the car back off because they did a shit job on the paint, but this time, I put a 2750 rev limiter on the car....Plenty of RPM to drive around the parking lot or even go drive to a shop, but not enough to get crazy with it. It just sucks that you don't know who to trust anymore to do the right thing or tell you the truth.

This really seems particularly unwise for those with a lot of mods. Dings and scratches I would not worry about so much, but if they know how to turn of traction control, it would not take a lot of stupidity to total it and then I would have to start all over.

Granddaddy always said you don't loan anybody cars, guns or women.
