Go to you tube and listen to "all" the vids before you decide. Better in person, but that's hard to do. Is it growl or throatiness your looking for? I think there's a big distinction between the two. The flow masters have IMO the nicest throatiness to them without sounding like diesel truck.

You also have to consider if your ever going to do high flows or headers in the future. If you don't like your new exhaust now, then you'll really hate it with headers. I started out the the most conservative axle back that I could find with a "throaty" sound, Flowmasters Force II. I'm in the process of putting headers and high flows on now. The Flowmasters Force II by themselves are no where near as loud(growl) as I would like, even under heavy throttle. But I anticipated that and I'm hoping(crossing my fingers) that the headers/cats will only really wake them up while under heavy throttle. My opinion is if you want dead nuts loud, get some e-cutouts, but if you want drive-ability with moderate noise, keep it sensible(subjective, I know).

His is one of the ones I'm considering. I have no other mods, and don't plan to do any. So how's the drone with this setup?

You will not like the drone at all, especially with AFM active.

Corsa comes with a resonated X-pipe to help with that and zero drone.

I've had them for over 3 years now on my otherwise stock Camaro.
Great deep rumble on my L99 and no drone at any rpm.

I'll just keep repeating what every other Solo customer said. Go Solo!! ZERO drone and awesome sound! Well worth it!

If you have extra money to burn Corsa is a great setup. However, for me, unless you put long tubes with it the system just sounds too tame.

I really liked the muffler delete. It cost $100 and sounded great. I see where Stainless Works is now selling a nice kit to do this too. I don't know if it would pass your emissions testing though. Also, some users experienced drone with a delete. I didn't, but that just means each car and owner is different.

I now have headers and it sounds even better. I'm planning on installing an X-Pipe today.

Any cat-back exhaust system will not affect emission testing. Magnaflow, Corsa and Kooks all make nice quality and sounding exhaust systems.

Had the Solo full catback w/JBA hdrs .hi flow cats but replaced the solo muffler w flowmaster40 dual in/out but kept the jpipes; fixed all my drone problems & sounds meaner than the catback muffler from Solo.

If you don't want to do anything else, SOLO axleback with J pipes is your best bet.

You don't want to add a different muffler that will quiet it down. The SOLO system is basically straight pipes after the center resonator.

I have Headers, HF cats, stock L99 resonator, and Solo Axleback. I got them to send it without tips so I could have my own Quad 4" tips welded on

Stainless works Retro Chambered catback, there usually cheaper and better in a lot of ways. has a built in X pipe and eliminates the center resonator. gives a low deep rumble just like a muscle car should sound!

I second this. Just installed the Borla Atak cat-back setup and makes my car WAY more fun. AFM is totally annoying though. AFM delete mod is on the way though!
