Plastidip wheels black and ?

I was in a thread a couple months back and someone was telling me about the materials for black plastidipping my wheels. I have used the search and went through my subscribed threads and can't seem to find it.

He was mentioning to get the black and another can of something to add to it. I don't think it was the glossifier. What is typically put on wheels? Also about how much, I figure a can of black per wheel?

I don't want them totally matte black so may add the glossifier to it as well, but was mainly trying to remember what was the other can that was mentioned as well as how much of that would be needed.

Hoping to have the time to do it over the next weekend.

Glossifer is the only other item I can think of for this type project which gives them more of a shine instead of flat.

If it was mine, I used matte black with a graphite metalizer topcoat. You need 8 light coats per wheel in total. I did 5 matte black and three graphite to get the look below.

I don't know if it's only me, but I don't recommend plastidip on the wheels. I did 10 coats on all my wheels and everything the way I was supposed to. When I went to the track the next week. My breaks heated up the paint and it started slinging black paint all over my car. I took off all the paint and just used black high heat engine enamel. It turned out perfect !

Powder coat looks a lot better, but I used plastidip on my other car, and it will chip after a while and I like mine looking factory.

I think dip is a good way to try ideas before committing to paint or powder coating.

I also used a top coat of pearls to get my color. Order the other colors through their website.

Yup that was it. Think it was you too. The graphite metallizer.
So could put a couple glossifier on top of that to give a hair of a shine?

Did you do it on the car?

Yeah I may peal of later and paint them at some point. But want to see how I like it first.

I like the stock wheels so just figure would try and then powder or paint em later.

That's the graphite pearl metallizer?
Thanks War and everyone else.

The metalizer will shine. Check out YouTube by dipyourcar they actually have video of how to use the metalizer and give you tips.

Yeah watched that one I believe. So the Carbon Pearl Metallizer will give the shine and don't need to put on the Glossifier?

Did them on the car. Used kitchen trash bags to cover the rotors. Followed the dip you car vid they did on a yellow Audi. Just takes time. 15 minutes between coats. Set the timer after the first wheel got coat1, then did the other three. Waited about 10 more minutes, reset and went again.

Pm with any questions. Light coats, and lots of them. Stay the same distance from each wheel on each coat to keep it from getting run or rough texture.

I haven't used glossifier myself so I can't speak on that but email dipyourcar directly and they will help you achieve the look you're going for. This is what I did and they responded instantly with what to buy and how much.
