Happy Annivesary... and belated Camaro B'day too! Your car is a timeless beauty, always reminds me of 1st Gen pace car & 4th Gen Anniversary edition. It's definitely a keeper!

Found this poor shot of my SS in a misplaced photo file today. Her "shoes" we're dirty after our first big road trip, but you can hardly see the thick layer of farm dust & road grime covering the body. You've got to LOVE Summit White, especially if you've ever owned or detailed a black vehicle on a weekly basis. (Fall 2014, Eastern Shore, VA.)

No disrespect intended, but why would you think that? I never could figure out why people take a late model car with different wheels and a couple bolt-ons to a car show.

No disrespect taken. To each his own. The reaction and amount of questions I get about my car is beyond what I expected. What I like is everything done to my car is to make it my own and done by me. The kids absolutely flock to my car, but I agree they don't understand the "classic car" thing. The voters are usually the ones who bring cars to the shows, most of which are the 50+ age so how will they judge? My car is late-model, yes, but there are probably a lot fewer made then most of the classic models that are still on the road. The last show a 57 Chevy took home 5 trophies. It was only a top 5 car at best as there were a few cars much nicer, but hey its a 57 Chevy so that overweighs everything else. That and his club brought 15 cars out of the 100 that were there. That's a lot of extra votes for your buddy. So as I say, the reactions and compliments are all the trophies I need. Just visiting and meeting new people is what it is all about, seeing all the nice cars is icing on the cake. And I never give myself a vote.

OK- I guess I'm out of touch with the car show crowd. I get a lot of looks in the Camaro, but I thought it was because I'm so handsome.
![]() Maybe when mine is closer to 'done' I'll take it to a show. Meeting people and talking about cars is by far the most fun part. Went to a small local show and left somewhat disgusted because several old dudes were so full of bullish*t and lying about their car value/originality etc. Quote:

I only paid $75K for mine, w/axle-back, failing stripes, & 780HP! Wouldn't dream of entering a show in my neck of the woods... because a Transformer's emblem apparently trumps ALL models & mod's.

car. If your in a Modern Muscle class, thats fine, enjoy your trophy. Many of the restored old cars have hundreds if not thousands of restoration hours put into them. Granted some owners buy their cars restored but maintenance to keep them 100% can involve dozens of hours. I guess you can tell I've restored a few classics myself. Try doing a frame up restoration on a 60 year old car and then you may want to rethink the trophy thing for just a few upgrades and weekend detailing before a show. I have 2 trophies with my '10 SS, both received in that "Modern Muscle" class.
