After years of Corvettes and many track days, I chose a 15 Z/28 over a C7 Z06 after seeing them next to each other at the Miami auto show. I've been parking next to my neighbor's red C7 Z06 now for quite some time, and am convinced I made the right decision. Getting the car for under $54,000 new makes my red A/C car that much more sweet.
I drive it 50% of the time and 20" 285/35 series tires make it a much smoother street driver. I can honestly say that the Z/28 is the most fun car that I have owned in 35 years. And in the last 5 years alone I've had a C63, Porsche Turbo, a track prepped Cayman S, and a 600hp LS3 based GTO. People are reluctant to pull the trigger for a $70000+ Camaro, as was I, but at around $60,000 it cannot be beat. The idea that it isn't good to drive on the street is a complete misconception but I'm sure that also hurt sales.

I'm glad it wasn't a "sales" hit ! .....I love the exclusivity.

There's one at my local dealer.
It happens to be in black also! If I hadn't put time, research, and money into my ZL1 with suspension and CCB upgrades I would definitely have thought more about buying one if it was in the high 60 ish range. I can understand why you happy Z/28 owners like the CCB system. It is phenomenal! I had to build my own kit since GM dropped the idea for the ZL1. Now if I can just adapt the DSSV shocks.

It seems no one is buying Camaro's GM just released the 2015 Forecast and Camaro took a big hit. There are going to be some serious deals out there.
Excerpt:The best-selling vehicle in the month was the Chevy Silverado pickup, which saw a year-over-year sales gain of 11.7% to 54,977 units. The GMC Sierra pickups posted a gain of 7% in August and the Acadia sport utility vehicle saw a sales gain of 10.2% to 9,050 units in August. Cadillac retail sales slipped 9.4%, following a 7.1% decrease in July. For the year to date, total Cadillac sales are down 2.8% and retail sales are down 5%. Total Chevrolet deliveries in August were down 1.5% year over year. Sales of Camaro fell 23.3% year over year and Cruze sales were down 37.4%

^The camaro sales decline is easy to see; Chevy is releasing their 6th generation later this year so everyone is waiting for it.
The Pick-Up sales increase is also easy to believe, in that the new updated designs are more attractive than the previous ones, especially with the Sierra.

I disagree. Not EVERYONE is waiting for it. 6 years ago I'd have agreed, but not now.

I disagree also.... Go visit your local Chevy dealer and walk up to random customers. Ask them if they know anything about the 2016 Camaro. I would bet that you cannot find one random person who even knows there is a new model coming out. Us guys on this forum are people who love Camaros. We are car guys, so we keep up with this stuff. The average Joe on the street has no idea. Like El Ess A said, six years ago things were different. The Camaro was brand new and getting a ton of press. It was coming back after a long time of being out of production. That's not true now. I think the sales drop is partially due to the fact that GM never advertises the Camaro any more. Meanwhile, Ford has the new Mustang commercials on all the time.

^Enough people are waiting for the 6th generation that would cause a noticeable decline in 2015 sales. Evidence enough for me.
I don't think the decline is due to advertising or lack of it. The 5th gen is a very popular edition, and folks have seen plenty of camaros in magazine advertisements as well as through the media. We are 5th generation fans (myself included), but you must consider a legion of people that Chevy is marketing the camaro for, not just for the diehard enthusiast. As it stands, I think its safe to say that '15 will end up being a down year for the 5th gen.

I have been surfin around the net today and I am seeing dealers marking these cars down in the 50's and I just can't believe they are doing this. It sure hurts me to see this when I gave in the 70's for mine. It really does not pay to buy cars like this when they first come out with them. I bought a 1990 454 SS truck new when they came out and they were supposed to be a limited number of them built. I paid sticker for it to just get one then GM decided to build more because the demand was high for them so there went the price down on those just like these Z/28's. I said I would never do that again and I did with this car. I promise I will never do it again. Patience is what it takes and I think there is a bunch of buyers out there just waiting to see how low these cars will go then when the bottom is there I think the dealers will sale out of the car.
