Really need help deciding cam.
I am really close to pulling trigger on a cam install. Of course I will need to get a dod/afm delete kit. Just can't decide if I want to do a full LS3 conversion or retain the VVT I have narrowed down to a Night Fury from Lethal or a SS3 from GPI. Does lethal make a Night Fury VVT cam? I will also be putting in a Circle D 3600 stall. I already have TSP headers, CAI, Vitesse and remote tune. For now, I will keep stock gears and heads. Please chime in and help me decide.

IMO. Hit up Pat G. I plan on asking him his opinion of the night fury and maybe spec through him.
He is VERY good at taking your needs/wants/expectation and giving you a cam that fits.

Listen to this guy! Pat G has spec'd over 100 camshafts for me and I have never had a customer complain about power or drivability. His new Lobe Profiles through Cam Motion offer a very smooth, quiet, and stable valvetrain.

Another vote for a custom Pat G. spec cam.

I have read that VVT cam for the l99 has a lot of benefits these days and a lot of people these days are saying stick with it. As others have said, hit up pat g. I was gonna go Nightfury or kaotic and decided to go with pat g. Great cam. Guess it would be considered a "stage 3" cam but it drives great

Not always. We have swapped out some of our LS3 "style" camshafts and gone back to some VVT stuff at the request of our customers and the cars didn't go any faster. There are some impressive VVT setups out there but it isn't the end-all of performance for the 5th Gen like the forums will have you believe.
Lots of great choices out there. I personally recommend with sticking with something that generates torque. 5th Gens are heavy pigs and need torque to get them moving. I've tuned a lot of the bigger "flavor of the month" camshafts and the cars always feel soggy on the bottom end vs. something that's designed to build cylinder pressure & torque at low rpm. |

I spoke with Kip at Cam Motion and he supplied what I needed at a very competitive price, a knowledgeable gentleman and great company to do business with.

How come nobody ever talks about the BTR stage 4? Just because of comp?

Well, looks like I will go with the SS3 VVT from GPI. Ryan has been patiently answering any of my questions. Just need to decide what converter. I know it will be Circle D. Just trying to decide if I want to go with a 3200 or 3600 stall. I have had both kind in previous cars. Leaning toward a 3600, but just not sure yet.
