Door Ding... on my roof!
So you park out in no mans land and you still end up with what looks like a door ding... on the roof of the car! How does that happen? miniature asteroid? Acorn? So I tried heating the area (Hot sun) then use a can of air upside down to cool the surface in order to expand and contract the metal and get it to pop out. It worked a bit, but still has a small divet disrupting the smooth flow of metal. Any other suggestions aside from autobody repair? They want $200-$450 depending if they have to roll it out from under. I've had door dings fixed before for $200 and they turned out "ok", but wth it being on top it's not as noticeable. I'm not opposed to autobody repair but this is the 2nd one in 3 years...and who knows how many more.

Ya they mentioned the hot glue avenue and that would be about $200. Yes I have a sunroof. I may find a separate vendor. My body shop has a "guy" who comes in to do this stuff. I'll find a separate "guy" not through the bodyshop. Either that or I'll get those lambo doors, lol.

Ya the strange thing is there is no chipped paint or skid marks from an object hitting it. I thought it might be a stray piece of hail.

Post a photo of it if you can. Most of the other guys who had it happen posted photos, and the dents were around the corners of the sunroof.

There is a history of dents in the roofs of sunroof cars. Not sure why it happens

That doesn't look like the previous sunroof dents posted here. Looks like your car might've gotten hit by a stray golf ball or something.
