New lightning lap
Just got my new issue of Car and Driver and was happy to see this. The 2015 stang gt ran a 3:05.2 at VIR. Look where the 2013 1LE is in comparison.

i have that issue too, and was also pleased to see that. i wonder what the 2016 ss will run, if it isnt faster than the 5th gen 1le around the track, than the 1le will still be the best bargain handler for 4 years straight. time will tell. i think ford is really putting all there track focus on the gt350

what's even more impressive is that VIR was later repaved. The 1LE could potentially place an even faster lap time if re-ran. the disparity between the mustang and 1LE would only increase.
1le camaro is one hell of a car. |

Great times for sure... Honestly the ATS and CTS V times were most impressive in that article for me.

If the GT has the "track pack" or "PP" I think they call it, then this is big. If not, then not so much.

This isn't exactly news. The tires on the 1LE alone are worth a cubic shit ton (that's a real measurement by the way) of time. The track-pack on the GTs are, other than phonetically sounding impressive, useless. You would need something very very light (think Corvette or ideally, a few hundred pounds less), to come close to a 1LE time if you're running the OEM Mustang GT tires (both model and size).

Screw mustang GTPP I am impressed that were faster then
That is some serious big dollar go fast track cars only that if we even dipped our toes into their forums about a $38k camaro is better, we would be grilled, flamed and drowned in a instance |
