Here is my Jacfab after just installing. Took me all of 5 minutes. No drilling just take the screws out from underneath and mount with the screws sent to you. This comes in a straight bracket or one bent in the middle.

I bought a $4 generic plate backing from Autozone, some furniture pads, and basically ziptied the backing to my lower grill. Then I screwed the plate into that.

Strong doublesided tape (3M or equivalent would do)

Durable, clean look, no frames, can be removed with no marks or residue left.

And no, this is not how I normally park. lol.

Use to live in Texas. How strict are they these days?
Could you just leave the front plate on the dash and if you get stopped tell the Police officer you are about to go home and install it? (or get out and install it while he was watching).
In my opinion front plates are hideous, how much is the fine?
In NC no front plate ... if they ever become required here I would request "Prayer For Judgement" from the Judge if an Officer gave a ticket.

The fine part of the law was accidentally omitted for about a year or so a while back. They revised the law and now I think it's about $200 or so?

Shouldn't it be just a fix it ticket. You put plate back on. You go find a non busy cop (maybe finishing his lunch). You DO NOT sneak up behind him and scream "I need help!!" You ask politely if, when he has a moment if he could look at signing off a fix it ticket for you. If he says yes, show him the citation and then the corrected car.

He signs it off, you say "Thank you sir for all your help and for keeping us safe every night." (you can add more sh*t here if you want, but don't push it.) You follow directions on back of cite where it tells you where to mail it an how much money to include for court costs (usually b/t $10 to $50). If you are incapable of finding stamps for sale in correct denomination, you can take the signed cite to court clerk. Pay them and they will give you an official receipt saying the violation has been corrected, the court costs are paid and that this guy holding this receipt had no idea about where to go to buy the correct stamp. (this stays on your permanent record for the rest of your life).

jk. I just never heard of a missing plate cite be a criminal offense where $200 bail has to be paid. Sounds a bit harsh.
