Thses 2 mods transforms the car and the difference is real, from throttle response to running better overall!!!

I meant between a Z28 intake and a Rotofab, CAI, etc...we're talking 1-4HP difference at most between all of them

I was very surprised. I pulled a Volant CAI with the Power core filter and replaced it with the Z28 CAI. Car runs 7/10ths quicker and 4mph faster in the 1/4 mile. I've got time slips to prove it. Made a big difference on the top end.

Testing done on the same day at same track (so same track condition and weather conditions)?

Two different weekends. Almost identical DA. Same track. Several runs with each CAI. I was pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn't do it just for sound, although its a great sound. I did it for several reasons

As for rain, seals perfectly under the hood. You should not have any issues. Jegs.com shipped it to my house for $402 total.

Hey All . . . I just got my Z/28 intake in the mail last night and i can't wait to install it. I will be doing so this weekend and i had one question as this thread has almost every piece of info you could need:

Do you have to disconnect the battery? I dislike the idea of doing so as it always seems to require the "re-setting" or something else afterwards . . . thoughts? Mandatory?

Thanks

Just to be safe, I'm sure everyone has their opinions, but just to be safe I disconnect the negative every time I do any work that involves sensors or electronics. As far as resetting, all it makes you do is roll down driver window then passenger window. I prefer to disconnect but let the opinions fly.

I am going to politely state that a Z/28 intake did not reduce your E/T by .7 second and increase mph by 4mph. Something else drastically changed. (I will bet traction/60ft times)

Your sig says you ran a 12.739 @ 110.44, that would mean you ran a 13.439 @ 106.44 prior to the intake install. Assume you had the LT/Cats in place already, something is wrong with your car as it is slower than stock.

Using math (which you cannot cheat) for a 4000lb car to run 0.7 seconds faster you would need to have gained 51 wheel horsepower with all other items being equal. A 4 mph increase in trap speed takes less power to achieve, but neither add up. That would indicate your car was only making 326whp on the same dyno prior to the intake.

Post the time slips and I can better help you understand where you made up the difference......If I can't explain it I will be very surprised.
