Don, Hey it's an easy fix. Just let your better half take your SS to work and you can take hers over by Lloyd and see what he thinks, it would be the better route. Lloyd should have everything needed to disassemble and repair, as well as the ability to get the part or at the least the price on it.
Hey, did I just say let your wife take the SS to work? Don… Don… hey are you there? I thought you may have fallen out of your chair reading my recommended car swap statement. (whew, I guess I better get that second cup of coffee) Just Kidding... Anyhow give him a call and work out a way to get it over to him to take a look at. I can almost guarantee that if you keep messing with it eventually your going to be tempted do try something you are unsure about. (It’s in our genes) which may end up with curse words (silent or out loud), regret, and possibly end up costing more than if you would have left it alone. Don’t ask me how I know this, but bear in mind I am sure there are hundreds on this board the can attest to it in past attempts regarding repairs... V/R, Nick

Sure, no problem. I hope to find out from Dave Hiller at Newman Chev Parts tomorrow as I have a email into him now to see if he can get me the trim piece only.

Don - email customer service at gmpartsdirect.com customerservice@gmpartsdirect.com with your VIN# (they always ask for it) and send a picture of the part so they can look up the part # & tell you its availability - they sell at a discount off list.
