CA Law Regarding Center Brake/Scanning Brake lights
So whenever my third brake light goes out I'm definitely not paying $200 for a replacement that will go out later, and I have a friend with a solstice with the same issue. Their LEDs in the center brake light have started going out but that's a big price for such a small light, I found this but I was wondering if it's even legal. I wish I could find a plug and play aftermarket option, for my car I can probably just disconnect the light and even add regular bulbs if I want to, but being behind the tinted window makes it less obvious a light is out. The solstice is pretty obvious and it looks bad with half the leds lighting up.
Just wondering if this would be legal, and if not... does anyone know of an easier, cheap way to get a legal working brake light that won't look much different? If I can just make that flash normally it'd be great, I don't really like how it looks scanning. Guess it's personal taste |
